VEDIC HYMNS
Vedas are storehouses of knowledge. They have been handed over to us from time immemorial only through word of mouth. Of course, now they are available in the written form thanks(?) to so many scholars. When they were handed over through word of mouth, much care was taken to preserve their form and intonation that special rules were created and taught to advanced students.
A part of the vedas was meant for ecological balance and sacrifices through AGNI(The Fire who is the mouth of the Devas, the illumined ones who run the Divine Government for looking after the various activities in the world under the BRAHMAN, the Absolute) were performed everywhere on a regular basis. Special rights were extended by the Emperors and kings just to perform these sacrifices and keep the atmosphere reverberating with the vedic sounds that kept the minds of their subjects free from evil thoughts like jealousy, lust, violence etc., This, in turn, had a tremendous effect upon the Nature's forces like rain and shine that were kept in a beautiful balance.
