Sri N. Ramani, a senior disciple of flute maestro TR Mahalingam (Mali), a noted flautist, performed at Vinjamuri Memorial festival held at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, on September 15, 2004. Before the start of his concert, spoke about Vinjamuri. The following is the extempore expression of his association and admiration for Vinjamuri.

        'I had known Vinjamuri from the time I was a student with my guru late T.R.Mahalingam, in early 1950s. N.S. Srinivasan was also learning flute under my guru at that time. My guru used to live in a house in Bazaar Road, Mylapore, Madras and Vinjamuri, who was a good friend of my guru, would visit him and they discussed music all the time.

        Vinjamuri is a great composer and composed a number of Kritis, Varnams, etc. The other day Vidushi R.Vedavalli told me about the beautiful and high quality Ghana Raga Panchaka Varnam composed by Vinjamuri, which I now have.

        Vinjamuri spent all his time on music and is loved and respected by all in Madras. His family members here and in America are continuing the great service to music. I hope they will soon bring out his compositions in a book form for the benefit of all musicians and posterity'.
