Ganakalanidhi Dr. Vinjamuri Varadaraja Iyengar

It is not at all an exaggeration to say that, as  the Principal  of Central college of  Music and Dance, Hyderabad and also, as Karnatic  Music Producer of All India Radio, Hyderabad, he (Vinjamuri Varadaraja Iyengar) had done immeasurable service to Classical Music and it's propagation. It is my desire that those people who had listened to the programs that he had created and transmitted, will have that Great Musician in their hearts permanently and, the selfless service he had rendered to the cause of Music, his dedication and his devotional worship of Music will serve as an example to the students of Music and Musicians.

Sangeetha Bhooshnam Sri Vinjamuri Varadaraja Iyengar is the greatest of all Great Musicians, Vocal Musicians. He was a disciple of Sri Tiger Varadachariar. Amongst the Older generation Musicians, he was a B.A degreed Musician. Traditional style and beautiful diction in Music were expressions of his uniqueness…

… While he sang, it would appear as if Ariyakudi was singing. The treasure of fine Music, high level of musicological knowledge and traditional approach were unique qualities of his Music.

I heard elders say that Chowdiah, Phalghat Mani and Papa Venkatarama Iyer and others would long and volunteer to play for Sri Vinjamuri and accompanied him for many concerts and all those concerts were very successful and delighted many an audience.

The service he rendered to the world of Music is praised by many even today.

If one has to talk about him in a single sentence, it must be said that he was the personification classical tradition and of real good Music and he earned the place as the greatest Musician amongst the great Musicians in the world of Music.
