…I had the occasion to study at the Annamalai University between 1953 and 55. There was a Music College in that University which I used to frequent, not to learn Music but to listen to music occasionally. There was a very interesting album in that Music College which contains Vinjamuri's pictures. Perhaps, he was associated with that Music College much earlier, in 30s but still, the pictures are in that album, which is very interesting.

…Another personal note: Ariyakudi is, according to the instruction given, was the Manasika Guru of Vinjamuri. And again, narrating, to go on my personal note, during my wedding in 1964, Ariyakudi graced the occasion and I told him; he asked me and I told him that I was allotted to Andhra Pradesh state and I was stationed in Guntur, he quickly said, "to report to Guntur must be a privilege as THAT place has produced Vinjamuri".

And again, as I recall, with certain emotion that last year (1990) Vinjamuri attended Ariyakudi memorial concert here and garlanded the photograph of Ariyakudi. We were so delighted that he could be present to garland the portrait of his Manasika Guru.

… There was a small anecdote which I did not mention last time that is; if I am not mistaken, in Madras Vinjamuri gave a concert, I was very young then, as I remember. My uncle was an ardent Music lover, who is now no more, was present at the concert and he was to take a flight to Delhi. The flight, may be, was around 7.30 or 8.00 p.m., I don't know. At that time Vinjamuri was getting into his stride with Aalaapana in Kalyani and my uncle said "let the flight go, I don't mind missing the fare" and stayed on to listen to the concert.
