National Book Critics Circle Awards The National Book Critics Circle consists of more than 700 book reviewers. Since its founding in 1974, the NBCC's centerpiece has been annual awards for the best book in five categories: fiction, general nonfiction, biography/autobiography, poetry, and criticism.
