"Aaron is on holiday this week and the break will do him good, but he's asked me to write his column this week. I've done no housework because I've been writing this, not that I do much housework anyway. I'll kill the little git when I get my hands on him, but until then here are my Top 10 boybands.
1. Take That
My favourite until V came along. Great songs, great dancing - some dodgy outfits, too, but most boybands have done that. There was nudity too, and I'm not going to knock that! People always put Gary down but I thought he was brilliant. I always had a soft spot for Mark Owen as well, if it wasn't for Aaron I'd want to mother Mark. He looks like he needs a cuddle.
2. East 17
They were the total opposite of Take That. Could have gone on for longer until the little one blew it, or sniffed it, or whatever it was he did! You can't go on radio programmes promoting drugs, not if you're a boyband. I bet he could kick himself now though. He just lost the plot. I don't think there are really any bad boys out there at the moment, I'm sure V get up to no good sometimes but they not bad, bad boys. People sometimes believe their own hype. Fraser, one of Aaron's brothers, said to me the other day, 'Do you know Aaron's a celebrity?'. I said, 'Is he bollocks'.
3. Westlife
Every woman likes a ballad, and Westlife have done loads. I used to call ballads bollards and Aaron always takes the piss out of me for that. Mark from Westlife gets my vote because he's lovely to his mum. And I don't care about the rumours about him which you hear from time to time - you are what you are. They made me like 'Mandy' as well. My name is Mandy and when I was younger the guy in the flat next door used to play the song through the well at me, day and night, and it gave me the horrors. Westlife laid that to rest.
4. Bay City Rollers
I can't remember why I liked these, but I know that I did. I had a Bay City Rollers pillowcase. Woody was my favourite.
5. Five
They had attitude and their personalities did come through but I don't actually remember too much about them because at the time I was thinking about getting my own boyband together with all my sons. I've got four boys - Aaron, Fraser, Chesney and Mason. Three like pop and one's a bit grungy, so he could have been the Robbie. I would probably have called them something like Kidz On The Run. The 'z' is very important.
6. Boyzone
Only because they had Ronan Keating. I still like his stuff today. If you look back now, you do wonder 'How did they do so well?', but they had some good songs.
7. Bros
This was the first concert I ever took Aaron to, at the age of five. It was at Wembley Stadium. Aaron danced through the whole concert. I saw Matt Goss playing at Milton Keynes over the summer, he was brilliant. But he shouldn't still be performing 'I Owe You Nothing', he should be performing new songs.
8. Backstreet Boys
They have great vocals and the acapellas they used to do were always really good. I really and truly think that V could be as big as the Backstreet Boys. They've got the potential. It's all about marketing and styling, and having money spent on your videos. You've got to put the money in there to get it out. But it's a gamble.
9. *NSYNC
Mainly because of Justin Timberlake - but they were also very good dancers. I like Joey, the fat one.
10. V
I couldn't leave them out of my Top 10! The reason? They're all so pretty, all five can sing, they do a very good acapella, and they've got one with blonde highlights. (Aaron told me to say that last one.) If I was a young girl now I'd probably go for Antony. He'd do it for me - it's the dimples. And Kevin's got lovely skin.
So that's my Top 10 boybands. Hopefully Aaron will be back on this page next week because I don't want to have to write another one!"
