For the benefit of the original poster, I'd highly recommend Saturn. I was
very happy with the way my purchase was handled, the courteous, professional
nature of the sales and service staff, the speedy delivery of a car right off
the line, the preparation of the car when delivered, and the driving experience
to date. I have a '95 SC2 in the Black Gold trim with all the options except
the sunroof. It's one sharp looking car, was delivered with only 1 minor
assembly defect (a misplaced strip of cushioning material), and has performed
flawlessly so far. The 5-speed manual with the DOHC engine provides more
than enough acceleration and mileage has been excellent even though I've
driven mostly in-town so far. I test drove several other vehicles, including
a Dodge Stealth, Avenger and Intrepid, the Mitsubishi Stealth equivalent,
the Mazda Miata, and looked briefly at some Honda and Toyota models, I felt
the Saturn was easily their equal given what I considered to be a bargain
price. Sure, the Stealth was more exciting to drive, just as it would have
been more exciting to insure! Adding the Saturn affected my insurance to
a much lower degree than I expected, given that it's full-coverage with a
low deductible.

So far, I'm one happy owner.

Dave
