Welcome to the Värde 199 homepage!
The "Gabba de deus" mix was recorded live at the Orhem party 2025-07-18. It is available at soundcloud and is embedded below. In pursuit of a heavenly experience for the listener, the mix has been processed using the same innovative, labor-intensive overdub technique previously employed for the "Let me be your campione" mix from 2024, i.e. a direct capture from the hardware carefully interwoven with a rough ambient recording taken on a mobile device. Listen attentively and you will detect some life-affirming crowd noise here and there.
The mix includes a portion of the still unreleased remix of Vox Vulgaris' "Madre de deus", and furthermore it opens and closes with stagings of XTC in the XIV's interpretation of the same track. These stagings have in turn prompted subsequent iterations that are currently forming into yet another remix that will hopefully eventually be published.
In addition to referencing these mentioned elements, the title of the mix alludes both to the gabber-asymptotic qualities of its contents in general and, more specifically, to the inclusion of the uncannily forgotten 1990s gem "Gabba hop" by Technohead, which has proven to sit divinely well in intimate intertwinement with the later-era trance cut "Boomerang" by Igor S.

The time has come to let go of 2024. The 2024 Year 2025 has ended, the one-year creative project dedicated to exploration of 2024 nostagia, also known as Project 2024. There is now an opportunity for reflection on the past time.
Has the project been considered a failure?
The question does not appear neutral, as it seemingly suggests its own reply. However, the actual answer is both yes and no, in no particular order.
More specifically, was the project's ambitious conceptual preparatory work a waste of time and effort, considering the apparently minimal rendered output?
Even more so than the last question, this one seems to presuppose its answer. The yields from the project may well be considered disappointing, but there are current initiatives to refit unfinished works originating from within the framework of the project. For example, a 2025 draft of a song that was intended as support for Kamala Harris' campaign in the very important US american 2024 presidential election against Donald Trump, is now planned to be reworked, so that its vocal sample will not allude to Kamala but to the word "comma".
Will there be a corresponding project The 2025 year 2026?
No.
A comeback DJ performance is scheduled for around 23:00 at the party in Orhem tonight. This is a very emotional occation as it is the first appearance since the unfortunate show in May, that was cut short after a furious intervention by venue staff.
Unfortunately yesterday’s performance at babajan was cut short after 20 minutes by venue staff since its music was considered too crude and repulsive. Apologies to the audience but the fate of the show was in other people’s hands.
As always, a lot of soul and sincerity, as well as many hours of preparations, had been put into this show, so being berated and dismissed over its contents felt personal and was an unpleasant and rather shocking experience. If you want to show support for this censored "degenerate" art, now is the time to book a performance.
Engaging in 2024 nostalgia as part of the project The 2024 Year 2025 has proven to be a time consuming commitment but there will be a brief pause from these efforts this weekend, as a DJ show not specifically focusing on 2024 is to be delivered at Babajan in Stockholm this Saturday May 31 during the release party for the book "Sex, dejting och ADHD".
As part of the project The 2024 Year 2025, here are two nostalgia-evoking photos from 2024. The bag of potato chips is the actual bag also seen on the quintessential press picture. It was brought out from a cupboard for the occation and its contents were consumed later the same night. The photos were shot by educated artist Lina Palmqvist.
And so The 2024 Year 2025 begins, the one-year creative project dedicated to exploration of 2024 nostalgia. Within this framework various kinds of processing will take place. What does it really "mean" to be nostalgic about 2024? What potential dangers can the nostalgic gaze at 2024 entail and how can they be evaded? Through what mechanisms can the bygone glory days of 2024 henceforth contribute to quality of life and inspiration rather than stagnation and melancholy? Hope you will join on this musical and mental ride through The 2024 Year 2025!
The christmas song "do they know it's genocide?" is now available at soundcloud and it is also embedded below! Christmas is a time for reflection, and the song is an attempt at a contemplation on the incredibly horrendous and absurd situation we are in. Hope you "like" it. Happy holidays!
Cover art for "Do they know it's genocide?" is a photo taken on the Swedish island Nordkoster:
