Arthur Morrison


This site is dedicated to the life and work of the British author, Arthur Morrison (Nov. 1, 1863 - Dec. 4, 1945). Morrison was born in London's East End and became a journalist in 1890, joining the staff of The National Observer. In addition to his beloved stories about the detective Martin Hewitt, Morrison wrote three realistic novels about life in the East End. Later in life, he devoted his time to collecting Asian art, his collection being sold to the British Museum in London before his death.
