♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: WHEN I'M WITH YOU >>> CHAPTER 023

*Joel*

Ugh, morning. I hated mornings with a passion. I got up out of bed slowly, trying not to wake Chester up and went to the bathroom. There was a light on, peeking out from under the door. I leaned against the wall and rubbed my eyes, waiting for who ever was in the bathroom to finish up.

About five minutes later Mike came out, looking a bit pale. "Morning," I smiled slightly at him, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah," he nodded, a bit uncertainly, "I just think the last of my stomach bug is coming back."

"That stinks," I nodded sympathetically, patting his shoulder, "Get some more rest. It's only seven. We leave for the road again at twelve."

Mike nodded, making his way back into the bedroom. I went to the bathroom to relieve myself, before peering into the livingroom, laughing slightly. Billy, Chris and Paul had fallen asleep spread out on the sofa and chairs. Guess they must've had a full night of video games.

Well now I was awake, and couldn't get back to sleep. I didn't need a shower, since I'd done that last night. I guess I could go get some things from the market for the bus, since we seem to never have anything there except for cereal.

"Hey Joel," Benji mumbled sleepily, "What're you doing up?"

"Went to the bathroom and now I'm awake," I smiled as he rubbed his eyes, "I'm gonna go to the market and get some food for the bus. Wanna come?"

"Sure," he nodded, "I think we should dress first."

I looked down and realized I was still in my boxers. Knowing me, I would've just walked tothe market and back in my boxers, wondering why people were giving me strange looks. Guess I wasn't as awake as I thought I was.

"Good point," I smiled, going into the bedroom and pulling some clothes on, before scribbling a note to the others, letting them know where we'd gone.

"Alright," Benji nodded, coming back into the living room with his Casulties shirt and his patch Dickies, "Let's roll."

"Alright then," I chuckled, grabbing my wallet and the hotel room key, "The market's really close, so we could walk it."

Benji nodded, following me outside. "Only... two more shows," Benji said, a hint of sadness in his voice, "I'm really gonna miss Mike."

"I know," I sighed softly, "Same with Chester. But hey, we'll still see them, I'm sure of it. We could buy a house together or something."

"Could we?" Benji asked, his eyes lighting up a little kid on Christmas morning, "That's the BEST idea Joel!"

"Yeah, but we'd have to get Chester and Mike to agree to it," I pointed out.

"They will," Benji nodded determinedly, "I'm sure of it."

*Mike*

I woke up later on, looking around the room, but Benji wasn't anywhere in sight. I got out of bed tiredly, feeling a bit sick, but not much. I'd woken up around seven AM and had to empty my stomach again and it was now ten.

I got dressed and went into the living room, where Chester, Chris, Billy and Paul were all engrossed in a four player fighting game.

"Don't tell me they've got you too Chaz," I laughed, sitting down with Billy on the floor.

"Hey, this is a very addicting game, and I've been informed that no one can beat MR. MARTINI over there," Chester giggled as Billy smacked him upside the head.

"Oh my god," Paul laughed, "Billy dude, that's your new nickname now. Billy Martini."

"THANKS CHESTER," Billy pouted, "Now I'll never hear the end of it."

"Anytime," Chester grinned. It was very amusing how well they were able to carry on a conversation and play the game at the same time.

I got up and went into the kitchen for some water, spotting a note on the fridge. 'Dear Chester, Mike and co.,

Benjers and I went to get some food for the tourbus, since the management likes to starve us until we die. We shall return asap.

Love always,

Joel'

Well that explains why Benji and Joel seemed to have vanished. "Are you guys all packed up?" I asked, "Don't we get back on the buses at 12?"

"Uh huh," Chester nodded, "Aw damn. I quit! And YOU MR. MARTINI, I demand a rematch in Tuscon."

"You got it," Billy smiled, "See ya later."

*Benji*

"We should just put this stuff on the bus now," Joel suggested as we walked back to the hotel, our arms full of bags. I think we may have gone overboard with buying food. I mean, we'd only be on the bus for about... three or four more days.

"Good idea," I nodded, "My arms are going numb."

We walked over to the parking lot where the buses were and knocked on the door of our's until Max, the driver, opened the door. "Thanks Max," Joel told him, "My arms are gonna fall off."

"You'll live," Max smiled, "When you go to the hotel, tell the other's in there to hurry up. All the other buses are packed, boarded and ready to go. We're waiting on you guys."

"They're prolly still playing that damned game," Benji laughed, "I'll go kick their asses for you. Joel, you put the food away. I'll bring your bags down for you."

"Thanks Benj," Joel nodded, dumping his bags onto the table. I went back into the hotel and up to the room, where, surprizingly, the others were just leaving.

"We're leaving now," Paul told me, "We lost track of time. You and Joel's bags are right by the door."

"Alright, thanks Paul," I nodded, grabbing our stuff and following them back out to the bus.

*Chester*

"Chaz, your video game pals were holdng us up," I laughed as I went into the back studio area of the bus with him and Joe, "Ty just said they were holding us all up."

"Oh well," Chester grinned, "Check this out. Joe has a nice beat going for the song you'd written. From the lyrics, we figured it could be kinda low key, like how Crawling is. Joe, play the beat for him again."

Joe nodded and played back the tape as I sat down beside him, immeditely getting into it. "Wow... that's perfect!" I grinned, "I think it'll work really good. We should work more on this song, since we're actually seeming to get going smoothly with it."

"Thank you thank you," Joe grinned, "I am a musical genious!"

"Dork," Chester laughed, "But I agree, that was awesome. Let's see if we can take it one step higher. Maybe make it longer and slower. And maybe put some keyboard into it."

*Joel*

"Hey Chester," I smiled, "What's up on the LP bus?"

"Nothing major," Chester laughed, "We got a new song in the works. Mike's been working on it with Joe all afternoon."

"Cool," I nodded, "I'm bored to death. Benji's busy on his laptop, doing who knows what, and the others are still with their video games."

"Hey, you can't blame them," Chester replied, "Thee really isn't much else to do on the bus."

"Yeah.. true," I agreed, "I miss you already. I can't wait to get to Tuscon so I can see you. Oh yeah, and Benji said he's making me, you and Mike buy a house with him."

Chester laughed slightly. "That's actually a good idea. I wouldn't mind having you guys as house mates. Parties and orgies everyday..."

"Is there something you're not telling me?" I laughed, "Orgies?"

"Hell yeah," Chester grinned, "Giant orgies with you, me and ice cream."

"Ice cream," I giggled, "Sounds.... cold."
