♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: WHEN I'M WITH YOU >>> CHAPTER 019
*Joel*
I opened my eyes slowly, yawning and sitting up. Chester was sleeping peacefully beside me, sprawled out on his stomach, his right arm and leg dangeling off the bed, and it looked like he could probably fall off at any minute. I wrapped an arm around his slim waist, dragging him completely onto the bed so he wouldn't fall and end up banging his head on the night table or something.
"Mmm," Chester sighed, curling closer to me under the warmth of the blankets. It was kinda cold, since it was October, and October in Virginia can be cold. But we'd be in warmer states for the remainder of the tour. I wrapped an arm around Chester as he trembled slightly, pulling him close. We'd both gone to bed in just our boxers, but he'd been half uncovered, so it was no wonder he was shivering.
"Hmph... Joel?" Chester murmured, "Why's it so cold?"
"'Cause Virginia has weird weather?" I smiled, rubbing his back gently, "Are you up now, or no?"
"Yeah, I'm up, just not moving," Chester sighed, laying his head down on my bare chest, "We gotta go to the buses again, don't we?"
"Afraid so," I smiled, "But then we'll be in... Texas, I think. It might be warmer there."
"Good," Chester smiled, "I don't like the cold."

"So, after all that, it was just a stomach bug?" I asked Mike as we left the doctor's office, "And now you feel fine?"
Mike nodded. "Yeah... it's weird. I felt like crap yesterday, but now I'm like, I was never even sick to begin with. Though.. the doctor did seem bothered by something... what I don't know. They did an ultrasound to make sure all I had was just a bug, but then they got all weird and it was freaky."
"Weird," I muttered, "Maybe your insides freaked them out?"
"HEY!" Mike laughed, shoving me, "Stop being so mean!"
"I not," I smiled innocently, "You know you love me."
"Yeah yeah," Mike smiled, zipping up his jacket as we climbed back into the car. I was relieved to know that he was fine now. So now I wouldn't have to sit on my own tourbus, worrying about him, and hating the fact that I wouldn't be able to be with him. I'm just glad that was over with.
"Hey Benj... I got you something. Well, Chester actually suggested giving it to you and Joel right before the tour ends, but then we decided to give it to you now. But you can't open it until after the tour," Mike said, handing me a rectangular box, that resembled a DVD or a video game, "It's a video our band did... like a documentary about a previous Festival Tour we did. He insisted that we wrap it though."
I smiled and nodded. "And we can't watch it until after the tour?" I pouted.
"Pretty much," Mike chucked, "So you guys can't tease us."

"Another one rides the bus..." Joe sang softly as he followed me onto the tourbus, "Hey, he's gonna sit by you, another one rides the bus... WHAAAAT?" Joe sighed dramatically as he caught the weird look I gave him, "Have you not heard that song? Does no one in the band but ME like Weird Al?"
"Pretty much," Rob laughed, tossing his bag into his bunk, "You're the outcast. What can we say?"
"Mean," Joe pouted, "I'm gonna go to the back of the bus and finish my song, thank you."
"Knock yourself out," I smiled, "Just don't sing TOO loud."
Rob laughed as Joe huffed and stomped off. "Heeeeey Mike," I smiled, "How you feeling? Joel said that Benji said that you weren't feeling good at all last night."
"I wasn't," Mike replied, putting his bag into his bunk, "I had a stomach bug. It was not a pretty sight."
"Well... that's better than having an evil poisonous demon spider-beat bite your ass," I laughed, "That was not fun. Speaking of which, did you give Benji the video?"
"Uh huh," Mike nodded, "I told him that they couldn't open it until after the tour. So they can't laugh and tease us."
"Nicely done," I smiled, "I am so freaking glad we're going to warmer states. I hate cold weather."
"Same," Mike agreed, "And that time in London was not fun either..."
I laughed at that memory. Coldest day of the year, and Mike forgets a coat. Classic. "Yeah. I'm gonna make some food. Want?"
"And how," he nodded, "I'm starved."

I laid in my bunk, Rancid blasting from my headphones as I let myself get lost in my thoughts. After this mini tour, we'd be doing promotional stuff, hosting All Things Rock, and probably going back into the studio to work on our new album. I silently wondered when I'd ever see Mike again after the tour.
Sure, we'd already swappwed numbers and addresses and all. But that wasn't the same as actually being with the person. Maybe me and Joel could go stay with him and Chester in Arizona during the Winter. It'd be much warmer, that's for sure.
Him and Chester shared a house in Phoenix, so it's usually pretty warm all year round, except for the nights. I'm sure we could work something out. At least I hoped we could.
I sighed and took my headphones off, jumping slightly as someone pulled the curtain to my bunk back suddenly. "Hey Beej," Joel smiled, "What's up?"
"Nothing," I shrugged, scooting over and making room for him to crawl in beside me, "Just thinking."
"About?" Joel smiled, lying down beside me, "Mike?"
"Yeah, basically," I admitted, "I was thinking... y'know how the tour's gonna be over in about a week and a half? Well... maybe we could stay with Mike and Chester in Arizona for a while. Y'know, after we shoot more episodes of All Things Rock and all that. Like, between the time we're shooting that, and the time we have to go to the studio. We could pay them a visit and maybe stay with them for a bit."
"You've really been planning all this," Joel noted, "But I think it's a great idea. I am gonna miss them a lot. And we have a few months between shooting ATR and going back to the studio. We have Christmas off I think. We hit the studio in February."
"Yeah," I nodded, "Think it would be fun? Staying with them from Novemer to February?"
"Definetely," Joel smiled, "I'm up for it. Just don't tell them. I think it'd be more fun to surprize them."
