♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: WHEN I'M WITH YOU >>> CHAPTER 014

*Chester*

On the bus... AGAIN. Even if it was only a six-show tour, the bus is boring as all hell. I couldn't seem to stop thoughts of Joel from getting into my head. I really felt like I wanted to be with him. He was the one for me. That's what one half of my mind was saying, and the other half kept reminding me about Sam. I mean, she's my WIFE... and I've been basically going behind her back, screwing around with a guy. A guy I feel like I love. Is it even possible to love two people at the same time?

When I married her, I loved her. But now... I don't know, those feelings just aren't really there anymore. Our relationship has been on the rocks for a good few months. She was getting sick of me always being on tour. I guess I should've been flattered that she really missed me so much, but instead it was annoying. She just doesn't understand how much the band means to me. But Joel does. He's in a band, and he knows just how I feel. That's one of the reasons we sorta connected.

I jumped slightly as my cellphone rang, scaring me to death. I picked it up and saw Sam's number. "Hello?" I asked.

"Chester, it's me," she said, her voice sounding angry and even a bit sad, "I just called you to say it's over. I just, can't take having a husband who's never there for me. I need someone who can actually BE there when I need them, not always away on tour or in the studio recording an album. So I found someone else."

I couldn't seem to form any words. I could only listen silently as she told me the divorce date, which was after the tour. She hung up without saying godbye. I lowered the phone from my ear slowly, feeling mixed emotions.

A part of me was happy, 'cause that would mean that I could be with Joel, without having to worry about him finding out about her. I'd just have to talk to Joel. Mike was talking to Benji and found out that Joel really does have feelings for me, feelings more than being just fuck buddies. And of course Mike couldn't keep his mouth shut, and he had to tell me, which I'm glad he did.

Alright, so I'd need to figure this out. The divorce date was set for after the tour. So Joel would never find out about her, unless of course it gets into the hands of the press. And to have Joel find out by means of the press would not be good. I sighed and burried my face in my hands. This was so confusing. Maybe Joel would understand. I could just tell him that divorce was coming, so it doesn't really mean I was cheating on a wife with him. I just hope he'll understand.

"Hey Chester," Mike smiled, coming into the lounge area of the bus with me, "Whatsup dude?"

"Samantha's divorcing me," I told him, not bothering to try and hide it. He was my best friend, so I could trust him with anything, "She just called and told me that divorce date was set for after the tour."

Mike's eyes widened in shock. "Holy... I forgot about her," he admitted, "I mean, I was so caught up with Benji and you and Joel and... damn. Are you alright about it?" he asked, wrapping me in a hug.

I nodded. "Yeah.. I am. It's weird... I mean, I loved her when we married, but now it's just like... when I met Joel, all my feelings for her vanished and there was nothing but him. It's like he understands me better than anyone else, except for you, of couse," I smiled slightly.

Mike chuckled. "I feel special," he smiled, "So, are you gonna tell Joel about it?"

"I'm gonna have to," I sighed, "If I don't, he'll find out from the press. You know the press like to get their hands on every story they can. I'd rather tell him myself that have him find out on his own. And if I don't tell him, it'll seem like I was hiding it from him."

"Yeah.." Mike agreed, "I'm sure Joel will understand. I mean, if you're divorcing from her, then it'll be no one but him."

*Benji*

"The bus sucks," I sighed, flopping down onto the sofa in the back area of the bus, "I miss Mike."

"Stop you're whining," Joel laughed, sitting down beside me, "You'll see him tomarrow."

"That's too long of a wait," I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Aww you'll survive," Joel laughed, grabbing the remote and switching on the TV, "Anything good on?"

"Prolly not," I laughed, "Wanna watch a movie?"

"Sure," Joel smiled, "Which movie?"

"Something scary," I grinned evilly, knowing Joel hated horror movies, and would rather watch something like Mortal Kombat.

"Do we HAVE to?" he sighed, "I hate horror movies."

"Yes we have to," I smiled, "Go see if Billy, Paul and Chris wanna watch a movie."

"Alright your highness," Joel laughed, rolling his eyes at me before going off to find them. Seconds laterI heard Joel yell, "Anyone who wants to watch a horror movie, back of the bus NOW!!!"

He came back in and smiled cheesily at me, before sitting back down beside me. "Joel, was that really necessary?" I laughed as Chris came in, rubbing his ear.

"Joel, next time you wanna do that, do it AWAY from my bunk!" he said, still rubbing his ear, "That's it... I'm deaf."

"You'll live," Paul laughed, coming up beside Chris and patting his back, before taking a seat.

"Alright, Joel," Billy grumbled, "I WAS sleeping y'know."

"Yeah, you WERE sleeping," Joel smiled at him, "Sit your ass down. Benji's FORCING us to watch a horror movie."

"Damn right," I smirked, putting 'Ghost Ship' into the DVD player, "This movie's only REALLY scary at the beginning. The rest is all that bad."

"Sure," Joel rolled his eyes, "I think I'm gonna be scared to death."

*Mike*

"I'm going to bed," I sighed, handing the PLaystation controller over to Chester, "I'm beat."

"Sweet Benji dreams," Chester laughed, ruffling up my hair. Normally, I'd threaten to kill him for messing up my hair, but since I was going to bed anyways, I didn't really care.

"Yeah yeah, rub it in," I laughed, which was a mistake. All day long my stomach had been sore. I don't know what from. Maybe I was getting a stomach bug. And I hate that.. your stomach hurts, but then you go and laugh, and it hurts more.

I stripped down to my boxers, tossing my clothes in the designated 'laundry bunk,' before climbing into my own bunk and putting the little TV on. I had to smile and Good Charlotte's 'Girls And Boys' video played on MTV. Some kinda countdown, but it wasn't All Things Rock. I was gonna have to watch that show more often after the tour, so I'd get to see him. I had no idea him and Joel hosted it.

I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing out loud as they had some chick who was supposently Avril Lavigne. Don't get me wrong, Avril's alright and all, and I do feel bad for all the crap she has to take about being punk or not, but that was too funny. The chick the yused must've been like, thirty something.

I jumped slightly as my cellphone rang shrilly. "Hello?"

"Hey Mike," Benji's voice rang out, "What's up?"

"I was going to bed," I laughed slightly, grimacing as it made my stomach hurt more, "What about you?"

"I just made the guys watch a horror movie," he laughed, "But Paul likes them, so he enjoyed it. The others were about to kill me. How're you feeling?"

"Eh, I'm living," I replied, "My stomach's felt really sore all day. I think it may be a stomach bug or something. Nothing big."

"You sure?" Benji asked me, sounding worried, "Cause y'know, I'll jump out our bus window and into your's if I have to."

I snickered at that thought and said, "No, that's alright Benj. Don't go doing anything drastic now."

"Alright," Benji laughed, "I see what you mean. Knowing my luck, I'd end up as road kill. But ANYWAYS, I can't wait to get to Virginia. I miss you already."

"I miss you too," I smiled, even though I knew he couldnt see me, "But we'll see each other tomarrow morning. Rob tells me we're supposed to be stopping somewhere for breakfast before going to the hotel."

"Really? I wasn't told that," Benji replied, "But that's cool. I better let you go get some sleep. Have some sweet dreams of me!"

"I will," I laughed softly, "Promise. Love you."

"Love you too," Benji replied, "Night."
