♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: WHEN I'M WITH YOU >>> CHAPTER 002

*Benji*

It was him... my guy I'd been admiring and whom I haven't been able to keep my mind off of since I first saw him. It seemed almost like fate that we'd both ended up at Taco Bell, or it could simply be because we each had a member in our respective bands that had a strange love for Taco Bell.

I watched his every move as he sat down at a table a few away from our's, his bandmates following suit. I took a moment to inspect what he had on: baggy black jeans, navy blue Vans t-shirt and grey sneakers. Even in clothing so simple, it managed to get me excited, even when I knew nothing about him, except for the fact that he's one of the lead singers in a band.

He glanced over in my direction and smiled slightly, and could've sworn I saw his cheeks flush pink as he met my gaze. I smiled back, noticing the chocolatey brown color of his eyes for the first time.

"Benj, c'mon dude, we've gotta go get our soundcheck over and done with," Joel said, nudging me with his elbow. I snapped my attention to him, afraid that he'd caught me staring at that guy, and nodded, my eyes wide.

"Jeez Benj, did you see a ghost or something?" Joel chuckled, noticing my expression, "C'mon, let's get this over with so we can just have a concert tomarrow with no soundcheck."

Did I see a ghost... more like an angel, I thought silently to myself, obediently getting up and throwing my trash away before stealing one last glance at my guy, then heading out to the van with the others.

"C'mon Noda, snap out of it," Chester chuckled, tapping me lightly on the side of my head. "Huh?" I asked in confusion, looking away from the van window, "We're back at the hotel? So fast?"

"So fast?" Chester asked, raising an eyebrow, "Mike, we've been driving for half an hour. That's not all that fast."

"Oh," I blushed, "I was just daydreaming."

"You've been doing that a lot lately," Joe commented, "Something or someone on your mind?"

"Nah," I shrugged indifferently, deciding not to tell them. I mean, ever since I saw that pink haired guy during our soundcheck, he's been all I could think about. I'd see him everywhere, even when I knew for a fact that there was no way he could be there.

And then they were at Taco Bell, and the way he kept looking at me... I really wanted to get to meet him, to know him better. I sighed and followed the others to the elevator, stepping inside and waiting patiently while we rode up to our floor, the seventh floor.

"Room sweet room," Rob sighed, sliding the key card into the lock and waiting until the light turned green, "I'm tired as I dunno what. I need sleep."

"I feel ya," Brad nodded, "I think I'll catch up on my sleep as well for sure."

I was lucky I could almost play perfectly without concentrating, because he was all I could seem to concentrate on. Who was he? What was his name?

A million unanswered questions about him flew around my mind, all these questions that I was dying to know the answers to. "Alright guys, that's a wrap," one of the crew member called through the speakers, "Everything's good to go for tomarrow's show."

"Thank god," Paul sighed, "I think I hear the shower calling me."

"Paul... come use me... come take a shower in me..." Joel breathed into Paul's ear, both of them meeting each other's gaze before laughing loudly.

"We don't know them, do we Benji?" Billy chuckled, sliding his arm around my waist. "Huh?" I asked, turning to look at him. I honestly hadn't heard him. "Benji, are you alright? You've been really spaced out about something," Billy said softly, "Anything you wanna talk about?"

I shook my head, wishing everyone would stop asking me that, even though I knew they were only doing it because they cared about me. I ran outside with them and hopped into the van, eager to get back to the hotel for some alone time. Maybe I could visit the roof-top pool... at eleven o' clock at night, I don't think anyone would be there.

"Chaz, I'm going to the pool," I told him. "Alright," Chester nodded, still digging through his bags for his toothbrush, which he'd been doing for a good ten minutes now. I draped my towel over my shoulder, and pocketed the card key before heading to the elevator.

I really just wanted some time to myself, and usually swimming helped me to clear my thoughts. I pressed the button for the roof and willed the red numbers overhead to reach the rooftop faster.

I climbed from the elevator and surveyed my surroundings. The pool was pretty big, and went from three feet to eight. There were beach chairs set up around the pool and a few tables and umbrellas.

There was also a gate around the edge of the roof... and him. He was standing there, looking out over the city, clad in only a pair of black shorts that reached almost to his ankles and a black t-shirt.

Should I go talk to him? Would he think I'm some sorta fag or something for watching him? But he was watching me too... and he smiled at me... and not to mention he was watching our soundcheck...

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves as I gathered up my courage and walked over to him determendly.
