♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: WHEN I'M WITH YOU >>> CHAPTER 001

*Benji*

I tried to focus on the television backstage as the rest of Good Charlotte was watching that Crocodile dude, and attempting to imitate his accent, but failing badly. I sighed to myself and left them, wandering aimlessly around the backstage area, looking for something to do to keep me occupied until we went up to do our soundcheck.

I heard music coming from onstage, and curiosity got the best of me. I headed towards the stage, stopping on side-stage to watch the band out there do their own soundcheck. There were six guys, four of them on instruments and two of them were obviously the lead singers.

I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against a wall of boxed equipment as I watched them interestedly. The one singer caught my eye almost immedietely. He had short black hair, spiked up, and a little chin stubble. He looked Asian, or at least half Asian. He seemed to be more of the backup singer, as the other guy was taking most of the lead lines.

One of the crew members stopped the song and said through their mic, "Let's try that once again... I don't think this one mic is hooked up right."

"It's Chester's fault," my guy laughed, nudging the other singer in the ribs. "Piss off man!" the guy, Chester, laughed, shoving my guy back.

I felt my breath hitch in my throat as my guy looked over in my direction, meeting my gaze and smiling warmly at me. I smiled back slowly, giving him a little nod. He nodded back, still smiling that adorable smile.

I jumped as someone covered my eyes from behind, and said in a deep voice, "Guess who!"

"Joel, get a life," I retorted in annoyance, shoving his hands off my eyes. "Ooh, is it that time of month for Benji Benj?" Joel teased, "C'mon, we're going to get lunch before our soundcheck, and Billy's begging us to go to Taco Bell."

"Alright, alright," I said reluctantly, looking back to the stage, frowing as the band that had been previously occupying it were nowhere in sight. I looked around, hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of my guy, who'd gotten me so suddenly interested in him. I sighed and faced the truth that they were done their soundcheck, and that I probably wasn't gonna get to see them until the actual concert.

*Mike*

"Earth to Mike!" Rob chuckled, waving a hand infront of my face, "Dude, you've been spacing out ever since we finished our soundcheck. What's on your mind?"

"Nothing," I replied, chosing not to tell him the truth. The truth, which was that I'd been thinking about that guy ever since I first saw him. He was just watching our soundcheck intently, arms folded over his chest, both adorned with many tattoos, and leaning against some boxed equipment.

And then he smiled at me... and I don't think I ever remember feeling like that before. It was like butterflies in my stomach, only intensified ten-fold. I silently wondered if I'd get to see him again.... of course I would, I answered myself, he most likely is in a band on the tour.

"Taco Bell again?" I groaned, being snapped from my thoughts as our van pulled up to the resturant. "Yes," Brad rolled his eyes, "Chester's first and only love."

"I resent that," Chester grinned, "Taco Bell rocks."

I rolled my eyes as well, climbing out of the van, suddenly not as hungry as I had previously been. We walked into the resturant, and I had to mentally slap myself before I gasped aloud. Sitting there with his band was that guy, the same guy who had been watching our soundcheck, the same guy who had smiled at me and made my stomach do flip-flops. I got to see hikm upclose this time, taking note of the three lip-rings and of his short cut pink hair, which looked like it had lepoard spots colored into it.

He looked up and glanced around the store, his gaze stopping on mine. He smiled slightly, nodding his head slightly, just as he had done earlier. I managed to nod back at him with a smile, and I could've sworn I felt his gaze on my back when I turned around to order my food.
