Rayne. A girl born to a mother. A mother whom was raped. Raped by a vampire. Rayne's mother was human, her father a vampire. So where does that leave her?

She has all the abilities of a vampire, except without the weaknesses, due to her human side. Her father left right after his night of forced passion on her mother, leaving her cold, alone and feeling violated in a street alleyway.

Nine months later, Rayne was born, a half human, half vampire, product of her mother's rape. She could rely on blood or human food. But she had to feed at least once a month to keep her vampire side at bay.

At age ten, her mother died, leaving her and her two younger brothers in an orphanage. Her brothers, twins Todd and CJ, were only eight years old at the time. They were all only children. Their mother was killed by a vampire, and Rayne knew deep inside that it had been the same vampire who had raped her years before.

He'd come back to finish his dirty work. By age thirteen, Todd and CJ had been adopted, leaving Rayne alone. She had no friends. All the other kids at the orphanage feared her. They shared rumors about her, not caring how much it hurt her feelings. To them, she had no feelings.

She spent her days at the orphanage alone, writing songs, playing her guitar, no matter how annoyed she made everyone else. They didn't care about her, so why should she care about them?

She was different than anyone else at the orphanage, and not just by her being half vampire and half human. She had a different fashion sense. She preffered dark clothes, baggy pants and tight tops, spiked collars and wristbands, she hated makeup and only wore black eyeliner and nailpolish. She was into the gothic/punk look. And she liked it that way.

When she hit age sixteen, her life took a change.
