♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: BACK TO YOUR HEART >>> CHAPTER 011

*Benji*

I smiled as I watched Mike walk down the aisle, looking at each of the cages, each one housing a different puppy or a dog who was waiting for someone to adopt them.

"Aww Benji c'mere!" Mike smiled, waving me over to him.

I walked over and he pointed to a Husky puppy in the the cage. The puppy was wagging his tail happily and had his front paws on the cage, licking Mike's hand through the bars.

"I want him," Mike smiled, "He's perfect. And super friendly."

"Awww he's adorable," I smiled, "And damn, lookit his paws. He's gonna be big."

"Can I help you gentlemen with anything?" A lady whose nametag read Rita asked us.

"Uh yeah. We want to adopt him," Mike told her, pointing to the puppy.

"Ah, Demon," Rita smiled, "We named him that 'cause he's a playful little guy. But he's really one of the most friendliest puppies we have here."

We watched as she went to get a leash for him, then came back and opened the cage, attaching it to his collar. I giggled as Demon went right over to Mike and yipped happily, licking his hand. Mike smiled and pet him gently.

"We'll take him," Mike grinned.

"Morning," I smiled as Chester walked into the kitchen, his hair all over the shop and looking sleepy, "I'm making us some pancakes."

"Thanks," he smiled and plopped down at the table, "Where's Benji and Mike?"

"They went to get a puppy," I replied, "They left pretty early too."

Chester nodded. "Man, I'm tired. I need to wake up."

"Want me to smack you?" I giggled, "It'll wake you up."

"I'll keep that in mind for later," Chester grinned as I handed him a plate of pancakes, "And damn, I love your cooking."

"Thank you," I smiled, sitting at the table with him. A few minutes later, Benji and Mike came back in.

"We're hooome!" Benji called out.

"That's nice," Chester called back and I laughed.

"We got a puppy!" Mike smiled, coming into the room.

"That's a puppy?!" I laughed, "That's one big puppy."

"Well, Huskies are big dogs," Benji nodded, "His name's Demon."

"Demon?" Chester asked, raising an eyebrow, "Any reason why...?"

"Nope," Mike smiled, petting his fur, "He's super friendly and playful."

"I think he's cute," I smiled as Demon came over to me, sniffing me around before yipping and jumping up, his front paws on my thigh as he licked my arm affectionately, before going over and doing the same to Chester.

"Well, he sure is friendly," Chester smiled, petting him, "I'm keeping him."

"Don't count on it," Mike grinned, "He's all mine."

*January - Six months*

*Mike*

I sighed and curled closer to Benji in bed, rubbing my stomach softly. I was now officially six months, and the twins would be born in one more month. Instead of looking like I was six months, I looked like I was eight. Demon and Cash were laying together at the foot of the bed, all curled up.

"Morning," Benji yawned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Morning," I smiled, kissing him softly. He smiled and kissed me back, rubbing my stomach gently.

"Only one more month," Benji smiled, voicing my earlier thoughts, "Are you excited?"

"And nervous," I admitted, "More so if it's gonna hurt like hell."

"Well, they can give you that thing that makes you all numb so you don't feel any pain," Benji replied, "So it won't hurt as much as you think it does."

"I hope so," I nodded, sitting up and leaning back against the headboard, "Is the nursery done?"

"Yep," Benji nodded, "We finished it yesterday."

"That's good," I smiled, "Do I HAVE to stay in bed?"

"Well not really," Benji replied, "The doctor reccomends it, but you don't have to. Just as long as you rest a lot and don't do anything that's really active."

I nodded. "And I allowed downstairs to get breakfast?" I asked him.

"Of course," Benji giggled, "Wanna watch some movies after that?"

"Okay," I smiled, watching as Benji got up and then helped me out of bed, wrapping his arm around my waist. I swear the babies must've thrown my centre of balance way off, 'cause I couldn't seem to walk right. And I always had this urge to look down at my feet when I walked, and it didn't help any that I couldn't see them over my stomach.

Once we finally managed to get downstairs, Benji instructed me to sit on the sofa and he'd make breakfast for us. I did as he said and flicked the TV on, stopping on Yugioh.

"Hey Demon," I smiled as he jumped up beside me, curling up to me and licking my hand.

"Mike? Do you want anything on your waffles?" Benji called from the kitchen.

"Uhm... no that's okay," I called back, not really in the mood for any weird foods. Which was unusual. 'Cause I've been craving some weird things lately.
