♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> TAKE A CHANCE: BACK TO YOUR HEART >>> CHAPTER 010

"I can't believe I have to drink 32 freaking ounces of water," I complained, "I'm gonna end up pissing all over the doctor or something."

Benji giggled as I finished off the last of the water. "You'll live," he smiled at me and took my hand. Seconds later, the nurse called us in and led us to a room in the back.

"Doctor Banner will be with you shortly," she smiled at us, before putting my file thingie in the plastic holder outside the door and walking off to tend to other patients.

A few minutes later, the doctor came in. "Wow. That was fast," Benji laughed.

Dr. Banner smiled and nodded. "Sure was. Ultrasounds come first, 'cause the patient can't hold their bladder forever. Now Mike, lay back and relax. From what I understand, you're here to find out the sex of your baby?"

"Uh huh," I nodded, lying back and smiling at Benji as he took my hand in his. I rolled my eyes and smiled as he mouthed the word 'twins' to me. Dr. Banner lifted my shirt and asked, "How many months are you?"

"Five today," I told him, trying not to laugh as he ran the end of the ultrasound thingie along my belly, spreading the clear gel around. "Five?" the doctor asked, "My, you're kinda big to be five months."

I watched the screen, unable to tell what was what. "Oh my," Dr. Banner smiled, "There's the head alright." I watched as he pointed it out on the screen. "And there's the other one."

"Other one?" I asked in shock, "What does THAT mean?"

"Twins!" Benji laughed, "I told you so!"

"Is that true?" I asked the doctor in disbelief.

Dr. Banner nodded with a smile. "Sure is. That explains why you're so big for only five months. You're having two healthy babies. One boy and one girl."

I felt tears come to my eyes. Benji smiled widely and kissed me softly. "This is so awesome," he smiled, brushing my hair off my forehead, "Twins so kick ass."

I giggled slightly at his happiness and nodded. "It is," I smiled, squeezing his hand, "I love you."

"I wonder how the ultrasound is going," I said, getting my coat on. Chester and I were going to the movies for a bit, since there was really nothing else to do.

"Me too," Chester nodded, "I wonder what they're having."

"Well, Benji swears they're having twins," I laughed, "I don't know about Mike though."

"And poor Mike will have to deliver them both," Chester giggled, "Poor guy."

"And twins are a lot of work," I nodded, pulling my coat on, "It's like, double of everything."

"Man," Chester shook his head, "That's a little nuts. Eh, I'm sure they'll survive."

We went outside and to the car, climbing in and immedietely turning the heat on. "Damn it's cold!" Chester shivered slightly, "I don't think I like the Winter much anymore."

"Poor Chaz," I smiled, shifting the car into reverse and pulling out of the driveway, "Have we decided on a movie yet?"

"Yeah. The Texas one," Chester said, "The uh... damnit... I can't get the whole name. But it's in Texas. And it's scary."

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" I suggested.

"That's the one!" Chester grinned, "I just couldn't get it to come out."

*Benji*

"Man, I didn't know twins are born in the seventh month," I said, leading Mike back into the house, "So that means you're due in February instead of May?"

"Yep," Mike nodded, "And it's all your fault. You kept saying we're having twins and now we are. You jinxed me."

"Oops," I grinned, "You know you love me." I picked up a note that was stuck onto the fridge, Joel's handwriting scrawled in black ink.

Dear Love Birds,

We went to the movies. We'll pick up Chinese or something on the way home. BTW, having twins Benj? :)

Yours Truly,

Joel

"What a dork," Mike giggled, reading the note over my shoulder, "I'm going upstairs to get some rest. I'm really tired for some reason."

"Alright. I'll come too," I replied, "And just think, halfway through your seventh month you'll be sentenced to bed rest."

"Ugh I know," Mike sighed, walking upstairs with me behind him, "That's okay though. You'll still have to take me outside once in a while for fresh air."

We went into the bedroom and Cash was curled up at the foot of Mike's bed, sleeping soundly. "Awww," Mike smiled, "How does Cash get along with other dogs? I think I wanna get one."

"Cash loves all animals," I smiled, scraching him behind the ears and laughing as he licked my hand, "Get a big dog. Like a St. Bernard. So it can protect us."

"Or slober us to death," Mike smiled, stripping down to his boxers and crawling under the covers. I scooted back on the bed and got under with him, wrapping an arm around him as he curled up to me.

"Can we go to the ASPCA tomarrow?" Mike asked, "I wanna see if they do have a St. Bernard or something. Or a Husky. They're cute dogs."

"Ooh yeah. I like Huskies," I smiled, giggling as Cash growled at me, "BUT! Cash is the best dog ever."

Mike laughed as Cash make a weird nod motion with his head and curled back up. "Dude, I seriously think Cash is like the smartest dog," he smiled, "I've never seen any animal understand people so well."

"That 'cause Cash is a geneious," I smiled.

Joel jumped slightly in his seat, right along with the rest of the people in the theater as the killer appeared seemingly out of nowhere on the big screen. I giggled and held his hand tightly.

"Calm down," I smiled at him, "It's just a movie."

"Tell the movie that," Joel chuckled at his own scaredness, "I think I shit myself twice already."

Once the movie ended, we headed outside and back to the car. "So, now we're off to get Chinese food?"

"Uh huh," I nodded, "I'm starved now."

After going to the Chinese place and getting some food, we headed back home. Benji was giving Cash some fresh food and water, and Mike was nowhere to be seen. "Heya Benj," I greeted him, "Mike's asleep?"

"How'd you guess?" he smiled, "We're having twins!"

"That's awesome!" Joel smiled, hugging him tightly, "What are they?"

"A girl and a boy," Benji smiled proudly, "And Mike's now due in February. 'Cause Dr. Banner said twins are born in the seventh month and not the ninth."

I nodded. "That's really cool. We'll need to get some baby shopping done before then."

"And how," Benji agreed, "And Mike wanted to hit the ASPCA tomarrow. He wants to get a puppy."

"Damn," Joel laughed, "You guys are gonna be busy."

"We'll manage," Benji laughed, "Besides, if he does get a puppy, Cash can watch after him while we're gone. Right Cash?"

Cash barked in reply, jumping up at licking Benji's face. I laughed. "Mike's got some competition now, huh."

"Guess so," Benji grinned, "You guys get food? I'm starving."
