♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> ANIMPORPHS >>> CHAPTER 005

<Morning everyone.>

"Diana?" I gasped and looked at the birds incredulously.

<Over here,> She said and hopped up on the table. She had morphed into a bald eagle. Sweet.

<Flying is so cool you guys, you should come to the Clinic now and get a bird!>

"Scott?!" Bob, Attie and I gasped at the same time.

<The one and only.>

He hopped around on the floor and flew ontop of the fridge. <You coming?>

<We'll morph back and walk over with you,> Diana said and they flew upstairs.

"Okay, that was weird," Bob said wide eyed. I nodded and glanced over at the doorway as Diana and Scott came in.

"That was so awesome!" Scott grinned and hopped excitedly from one foot to the other.

"Let's go then!" I grinned and ran towards the front door, Scott, Diana, Bob and Attie at my heels. We walked outside and shut the door behind us, heading towards the Clinic on the other side of town. I walked silently next to Attie as Bob, Diana and Scott chatted happily infront of us.

"I'm scared," Attie whispered, her voice barely audible. I stopped in my tracks and turned to face her.

"We'll be okay, I promise," I answered softly and took a hold of her shoulders, massaging them gently. She smiled weakly at me and nodded.
"It's not so much the morphing," She said as we started walking again, "It's the figthing I'm worried about. What if one of us dies?"

I took her hand in mine and interlaced my fingers with hers, "I'll protect you. I promise."

"Who'll have your back though?" She whispered tearfully. She must have been thinking about this all night, weighing up all the possibilities.
"I'll be fine, don't worry about me," I grinned and kissed the side of her head. My heart fluttered at the thought of her being concerned for my safety. Sometimes I wish I had Dave or Scott's nerves. Once they'd decided they liked Diana and Tasha they just came out and asked them for a date. Four long years of beautiful friendship was fantastic. But what I wanted more than anything was to hold her close, kiss her mouth, feel her touch, the warmth of her body up against mine, watch her sleep in my arms, wake up next to her and watch the morning sun dance across her delicate features. To be able to tell her I loved her more than anything else this life had to offer was my ultimate dream. Scott had rudely told me one day that I needed to get some balls and confront her before someone else stole her from me.

The thought of seeing her with anybody else made my heart ache, but I still couldn't bring myself to let the words dance past my lips. I was too afraid of rejection, I didn't know if my heart could take it. The thought of her not feeling what I feel for her would practically kill me, leaving a shell of my former self. A mere shadow of what I used to be. I couldn't fathom ever letting that happen, so I kept my emotions bottled up inside. It was hard enough to talk to my brothers even.

Bob was the easiest to talk to, not only because we were twins and had a special connection, but because he couldn't use the fact that he had a girlfriend over me, because he was single like me. I sighed loudly as we stopped outside the Clinic.

"Ready?" Bob asked us excitedly. I nodded silently and squeezed Attie's hand tightly as we walked around the back. Diana locked the door behind us. My eyes widened at the birds before us. They were so majestic. The ability to fly was something I'd always dreamed of. To be able to soar above the city without a care in the world, to feel the wind through my hair, the sun on my back. Nothing would be cooler, except maybe if Attie was flying with me. I glanced around and smiled as a Tawny Eagle winked at me.

"Choose a bird you guys," Scott said eagerly. I let go of Attie's hand and waked over to the Tawny Eagle.

"Hey buddy," I said softly and touched his soft feathers.

"Think of the animal you're touching really hard," Diana said gently. I glanced around and saw that Bob was touching a Red-Tailed Hawk and Attie had gone over to a Golden Eagle. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the bird I was touching. I gasped softly when I felt a tingling sensation shoot up my arm. I let go of the bird and backed away from it.
It nodded and cooed at me softly. "Thanks," I whispered and walked back over to Diana and Scott.

"Ready?" Scott asked quietly. We nodded and prepared to morph.

I pushed Tasha on the swing gently. Her brown hair flowing out behind her as she swung upwards. I slowed her down and stopped her completely.
"Do you know how much I love you?" I whispered and kissed her cheek.
"Tell me," She whispered. "More than anything," I brushed her hair back and played with it softly.

"Even more than Chinese food?" She joked, laughing softly. "Way more than Chinese food," I laughed and turned her head to the side. I leant down and pressed my mouth against hers tenderly. She sighed softly and pulled away, she reached around the swing chain and pulled me around to the front of the swing. She stood up and kissed me again, her tongue snaking in my mouth delicately. I moaned around our kiss and stroked her soft hair gently as her palms pressed flat up against my chest.

"You know, it's a pity we can't morph into humans," I said and kissed her face softly. Her cheeks, her nose, her eyelids.

"Why would you wanna do that for?" She asked and slipped her hands into my back pockets. "Well," I pulled away from her and grinned, "I'd like to morph into you and stare at myself naked in the mirror all day."

"Perve," She giggled and slapped my arm playfully.

"It's not my fault you're sexy, don't put the blame of me missy," I laughed and took her hand in mine.

"You're a big dork, do you know that?" She laughed as we walked out of the park and down the road. Heading nowhere and just enjoying each others company.

"I try," I shrugged and slung an arm around her shoulder, kissing the side of her forehead gently.
