♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> AGAINST ALL ODDS >>> CHAPTER 024
"I'm assuming you heard what our lovely parents did?" I asked Nycto the next morning.
"Oh, I heard alright, the next door neighbours probably did too," She rolled her eyes and flopped down on her bed.
"This wouldn't suck so much if I didn't kinda like Dave," I sighed.
"I knew you were gonna say that," Nycto smirked and rolled over onto her stomach. I poked my tongue out at her and rummaged through her nail polishes, finally settling on a shocking bright blue for my fingernails.
"He's cute," I shrugged.
"And also nothing like what your parents want for you," Nycto said softly.
"Yeah," I answered and unscrewed the nail polish cap. Dave, with his many piercings, a tattoo and being a part of a rock band, was exactly the kind of person my parents would despise for me to ever be seen with. To them, image was everything. Life was what you wore, who you were seen with, and what grades you got. My parents were happy with my clothes and thrilled with my grades, but they had flipped when they found out who my new friends were. Rockstars and pregnants girls; too of the greater evils of life, they had said. Thankfully they hadn't gone so far as to ban me from seeing them... yet.

I sighed softly as I packed one of my many suitcases. Nebraska, I thought angrily. Why now? When I was making so many nice friends... and Mitch. He was exactly the kind of guy I'd always wanted, but could never have. He was the kind of guys every girl dreamed about, and now I had to leave all this behind and start up again, where no one knew me or JJ. I sat down and rubbed my hand over my bulging stomach, JJ came in and smiled at me.
"Hey sweetie," I smiled at him.
"What's wrong mummy?" He asked and hugged me tightly.
"Nothing," I told him, "Mummy's just a bit tired."

"What can we dooooo?" Diana whined loudly, purposely trying to annoy everyone.
"You do that very well," Bob laughed at her.
"Thanks," She grinned at him. "Scotty," She turned to me, "I'm bored."
"Ring Christy and get her to come over," Dave suggested.
"Yeah!" Clint agreed.
"Speaking of which, when are you gonna ask her out man?" I asked him.
He blushed, "I dunno."
"Someone else will get to her before you get the balls to do it," Dave smirked.
"Shut up butt-munch, ask Atlantica out if you're so manly," Clint challenged.
"Gladly," Dave grinned at him and picked the phone up, and then put it down. "Later."
"Pussy," Bob coughed, causing us all to laugh softly.
"I'm still bored," Diana reminded me. I giggled and rolled my eyes at her.

"Are you losing weight Christy?" My mum asked me as I came downstairs.
"Um," I looked down at my clothes, "Yeah."
"We need to get you some smaller clothes then, would you like to go shopping with me?"
I nodded and smiled at her. It wasn't often that we did things together, I wasn't gonna pass this offer up.
