♥ MUSIC FICTION >>> AGAINST ALL ODDS >>> CHAPTER 021

"Are you and Christy on a diet or something?" I heard Dave ask Attie. She rolled her eyes and grinned at me.

"Dave, are you saying we need to go on a diet or something?" Attie teased him. His eyes widened.

"No, God no... it's just that you both got salads and..." He tried to explain himself as Attie and I laughed at him. He pouted.

"I was kidding," Attie told him and pinched his cheek. He grimaced and shoved her.

"God, you just made me feel really bad," He said.

"My bad, sorry," Attie shrugged and bit into a piece of garlic bread.

"Ohh... garlic breath," I teased her, "Very attractive."

"Do you really think so?" She laughed. I nodded and looked around at the laughing group.

"You don't need to go on a diet," Clint whispered in my ear and grinned at me as I turned to face me.

"Thanks," I smiled at him and blushed a bit. I knew he was only saying that to make me feel better, but still, it made me feel good to hear him complimanting me, even if he was lying.

I smiled at Mitch as the waitress set his lasagne down infront of him.

"So, what do you think of my friends?" I asked him quietly as the waitress continued to serve everyone at out large table.

"They're really cool, it's a pity JJ couldn't be here though, he's awesome," Mitch grinned at me.

"Yeah, but it's nice to be able to go out without him sometimes," I admitted.

"True," Mitch nodded. I looked around the table sadly. What none of them knew was that I wouldn't be here at the end of the week. My parents had flipped when they had learnt I was pregnant again, and they were sending me to live with my grandparents in Nebraska. It really sucked that they had decided to come down on meso harshly now, just when I had made some fantastic friends. I knew I would never forget them though. I just didn't know how to tell them I was leaving.

"I saw that Bob Moffatt!" I gasped and slapped his arm lightly.

"What?!" He laughed and popped one of my fries into his mouth.

"You've been stealing my fries all night," I laughed. He grinned at me and tried to steal another one. I grabbed his hand and looked him in the eye as he wrapped his fingers around mine. Jolts of electricity seemed to be shooting up my arm as I stared at him silently.

"Can you pass me the salt Nycto?" Diana asked. Bob and I jumped away from each other in shock and I grabbed the salt, passing it to Diana quickly before busying myself in my meal.

I nudged Scott and tilted my head towards Lannie and Dave. They were completely opposite in looks.

Dave with his many piercings and Lannie's clean-cut private school look. Scott laughed.

"They're very different," He said, voicing my thoughts.

"Very," I agreed.

"Oh guys, this Friday our youth group is going ten pin bowling, do you all wanna come?" Lannie asked suddenly.

"Sure," I nodded.

"Wait, we are?" Nycto asked Lannie.

"Uh huh, it's down in my book," Lannie said.

"You're too organised," Nycto laughed. Lannie shrugged and poked her tongue out in response. I turned to face Scott and grinned at him. I kissed him lightly and leant my head on his shoulder.
