May the Force Find these toys
photo

There are few things in this world that make me want to stop trying to collect toys. Exclusives are one of them. Considering the spotty distribution most large retailers, they can either flood the market or be impossible to find. In the latter category are the Target exclusive Order 66 2-packs. I just want two of the six sets, but thanks to all the other collectors, scalpers,* and army builders*, they're all gone and the release date is tomorrow. Add to the frustration the four Wal-Mart exclusives (1 Star Wars and 3 Transformers) I can't find and probably never will and I just want to tell Hasbro to go somewhere unpleasant, like Iraq or the bottom of the sea.

Maybe it's a sign for me to stop. I mean, I've been trying to work my way to quitting for some time now since it eats up far more time, money, and energy than I want to put forth. It must seem silly for a grown man to get upset over not finding children's toys. I just hope that when the time comes for my wife and I to start a family, that the kids won't want the same things adults collect.

* These are two of the other things that make me want to stop collecting toys. It's hard enough to find this stuff without the scalpers throwing it up on ebay and the army builders who I believe feel entitiled to own multiples of figures just because the movies depict many troops. One of each should be enough IMO.
