We were dodging cyclists on a rally all the way across the first part of Ontario.
This is the Atlantic Watershed marker. Water from here drains through the Great Lakes, over Niagara Falls and along the Saint Lawrence River, through Quebec, to the Atlantic Ocean. |
We are off the Prairies and into the rock and tree landscape of Northern Ontario . |

The landscape has many ponds and lakes.
I am saving this image as a souvenir in memory of my grandmother who cherished her precious, dried bullrushes in England for thirty years. |
We dropped into the Visitor's Bureau of the Town of Atikokan who helped us to find a few days in a fishing camp north of the town . |

We have a cabin at Browns' Clearwater West Lodge. It is a hunting and fishing camp, surrounded by untouched forest. |
