Basenji pup's are adorable with their short coats and moderate size. Their stunning appearance as adults only add to there appeal. Basenji's don't bark but thay can growl, whine, and whimper like any other dog. They make a sound that is described by most as a yodel. Basenji's as pups have lots of loose wrinkles on there body and face which makes them stunning. Adults have masculane bodies showing there muscle and statue like features. They clean themselves like cats, and have little to no shedding, making them good for allergy prone owners. Basenji's are extremely intelligent dogs with a desire to please their owners. They like lots of attention and need daily exercise. Basenji's live a long 13-14 years and have litters of 4-6 puppies. They are amazing climbers and jumpers and are fearless and should not be allowed to run free around roads. Adults grow to be 15-17 inches high and weigh about 18-20 lbs. They come in red and white,black and white,and tri-color, they also have brindle's. They are reconized by all organizations akc,ckc, etc.
