Salay Handmade Paper Industries Inc. or SHAPII started in 1987 and benefits local farmers, housewives and out of school youth. Now the number has expanded to about 350 people engaged in handmade paper and its designing and crafting each piece into exquisite original art pieces. BAHI - was conceived in the late 1990. Because of rapid urban development, thousands of families have been severely affected and displaced. The result was economic dislocation. As a response home-based enterprises were . At this period the important role of women in home-based enterprise was recognized and an association of women was organized and established. Project Seahorse is supporting subsistence Fisherfolk families in Handumon,Getafe, Bohol. The assisted communities produce handicrafts made of romblon straw. The Fisherfolks promote community-based marine conservation. |
