What is the program of Education? It is a program that facilitates the knowledge and abilities of the mature students through accelerated elementary and secondary studies.

Our Mission: To facilitate the access to the formal education of adults who had not had access to the educational system. Thus, we increase the academic level of the community leaders (men and women) educated in U.A.M.

Our Vision: To be a competitive program of alternative education that strenghtens the formal education of community leaders at the regional level. We hope to gain the acceptance and thrust of the community leaders so that they can participate in decision-making positions in the local and regional posts in the organizations.

Educational Centres of the Program:

School "Camino al Progreso" serves elementary and high school for mature students in Quetzaltenango.

Adult school Unión de Agricultores Minifundistas de Guatemala serves elementary for adults in Quetzaltenango.

Elementary school with an agricultural approach, San Juan Aguacatán in Huehuetenango.

Private co-ed school for mature students, Quetzaltepeque.

Private co-ed high school for mature students in Quetzaltepeque, Chiquimula.

Pensum

The formal or official education system of Guatemala leaves some room for alternative education in the programs. This room is the one we are using to offer an education depending on the context.

Each level of the accelerated school for adults is divided in the following sections and stages:

ELEMENTARY:

First, second, third and fourth stages are studied in a period of 3 years.

BASIC:

First, second, third and fourth semestres are studied in 2 years.

HIGH SCHOOL:

First and second semestres are studied in 1 year.
