As a character, Karen was created three years ago... but what she represents in my mind had been nagging at me for so long. Just her name is a weird mix:

Karen is the name I wanted for my first born child (when I was 7 years old).
Esther, her second name is the one I used when I was in highschool and wrote a diary, I thought it was stupid to start with "Dear Diary..." so I wrote "Dear Esther..."
Troy, is Linnda's second "last name" as in "Delatov Troy" but I wanted to reflect the interesting situation that I have with my real sister: her last name is different from mine, I have my father and mother's, but she only has my mother's last name.

And I'm running late now... going to see what's waiting for me next thursday.
