  R.I.P a God of man.
Tragedy struck on September 1, 2008 when Don LaFontaine, voiceover great, passed away in an LA
hospital at around 2pm local time.

The 'Voice of God' was admitted to the hospital in August suffering with a blood clot. An official statement
on the Don LaFontaine website read;
"physicians at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, his treatments
left him depleted. In the last week of his life, Don fought hard and appeared to be stabilizing
but he ultimately succumbed to the many complications brought on by the side effects
of the treatments."

LaFontaine was the voice master behind some 750,000 TV commercials and over 5,000 movies. His
booming, flawless voice, though copied by many, was the benchmark in all trailers throughout the world.

He began his 48 year career as a movie producer, and accidently fell into a voiceover role when the
original actor failed to show up. Since that day, he has shaped the movie industry with his cheery
personality.

Father of two and loving husband, "The Don" will leave a large hole in all our hearts.He was 68.

Ty's Favourite Don Quotes;

  Quick Service Restaurants to cut the fat.
Australia's biggest names in Fast Food agreed with the Federal Government to phase out the use of
trans fats in their food this week. The agreement came after Federal Assistant Health Minister Christopher
Pyne threatened that trans fat levels on foods would have to be declared if a voluntary reduction
was not agreed to.

However, while the agreement did appear to be unanimous, the Sydney Morning Herald this morning
reports that Yum! Restaurants, which owns KFC and Pizza Hut, has issued a statement saying
they would not change the palm oil they cook with, even though it contains trans fats.

The company says the amount of trans fats in palm oil is "extremely low", but the Heart Foundation
and other nutritionists do not think that makes it ok.

And while McDonald's sport a new Heart Tick Approved Menu, it is still clear that The Burgers Are Better
At Hungry Jack's.

  Microsoft Strikes TyCorp!
It's finally happened. At the start of 2007 (some 7 years after the original TyCorp was born), Microsoft put
"Phishing Warning" on TyCorp Australia. This prevented people from accessing the site at all, without
removing a special filter on Microsoft's newest Internet Explorer.

Phishing is a term used by Microsoft for websites that steal personal information from their viewers without
the visitors knowing. TyCorp does not steal any personal information from it's viewers. As TyCorp uses
GeoCities to host the site, we advise you to visit their website, and view their Privacy Statement.

After contacting Microsoft, they have removed the "Phishing Warning", and we are now aren't classified
as a threat.

We apologise for any down time, and thank you for your continuing support.
