Locomotive #610 is now in service -- shown in its second full day of operation on Monday.  Notice the black flags flying near the class lights.  This is in remembrance of Engineer Billy Byrd who passed away on July 29 in Kentucky.  Billy will be missed by TVRM crew members & friends as well as the entire railfan community.  He was the last true "steam man" around, having hired on with L&N before the great diesel invasion.  Billy had been a volunteer with TVRM for many years, working with friends and, most recently, his wife Sandy.  Cards may be sent in care of the TVRM office for forwarding.  Memorial donations are also being accepted.

In the shop can be seen wheels from K4 #1361 (back) and Spencer's 0-6-0 switcher.

Now that 610 is running, attention turns once again to SR #630.  Here is a look inside the smokebox..
