Dear Stuart,

The years pass and one doubts that anyone remembers anything after a while, however, I am David Howe and know you from Harkness Coop. To help you recall me, I played a lot of bridge with Schlawin, the ever dangerous Edie McDavitt, and hung out with Stephie Dobie, Stormy Tator, Armena Marderosian, Joan Ifland, etc.

Later I came to know your sister Lynn, truly one of the most beautiful girls in my life. I have finally found a way to convey some of my feeling for Lynn because I'm a Celt too, and our feelings often end up kind of tangled and difficult to talk about. The BBC came out with a marvelous dramatization of Kidnapped a few years ago and Davy and Alan were running through the tall ferns of the Highlands: those unimaginable ferns are where I find Lynn in my heart. It's a love that carries on year after year that I have long since surrendered too and I was wondering if you could put me in touch with the bonny lass so that I can show her what I have done with this star-crossed life of mine.

So, Stuart, I'd also like to invite you to look at my work and see if it appeals to you. I have a couple of sites but the best introduction to the work is probably this letter to Sela Ward.

The sites themselves are: SUMARAH: A Study of the Art of Living, a description of Java and Javanese mysticism and THE BOOK OF BEING: "Look for Causes in Consequences", a critique of the narcissistic abandon of the postmodern world among other things.

Best wishes to you. Please pass me Lynn's email address and let me know how you are as well: I am rather at Wit's End.

Yours,
David Howe
