Well, well, well... The classic atheist
argument of assigning all the guilt and blame to
one being (evidently not without apparent reason)
while we all go on willy-nilly behaving in an
irresponsible fashion, with Mankind running wildly
off the cliff of extinction as if we have all had
enough of the exposure of being present for so
long (what, five thousand years?) in one place.
What on earth are we? Are we a bunch of lemmings
heading for the sea or are we a cabal of karmic
criminals getting ready to decamp? Think about
it...
Yours in God,
David Gordon Howe
In the interest of pointing out that this question is by no means peculiar to me, let me quote from one of my favorite artistic moments, Vincent D'Onofrio's marvelous portrayal of Edgar the I-Human in Men In Black:
Edgar/Bug: Y'know, I've noticed an infestation here. Everywhere I look, in fact. Nothing but undeveloped, unevolved, barely conscious pond scum, totally convinced of their own superiority as they scurry about in short pointless lives.
