this new multi-use facility was designed to give each component its own autonomy. the police and courts have separate distinct entries, while the jail is shielded from the public by the other two components. the design challenge was to help the conservative client envision the design with realistic forms and materials. the advantage of using the 3d model and computer renderings resolved the problem effectively. In addition, the computer model was used to study the natural lighting condition inside the atrium in order to study the richness of different materials.
