this new police headquarters is located in an area of the city undergoing revitalization. the building houses the central administration offices, CID, record, personnel, identification lab, and automated fingerprint/ identification systems for the city of dallas. a central courtyard introduces natural light deep into the core of the large building footprint and creates a common ground for the different departments of a large police facility. the building overlook the dallas downtown skylines proposing an extension of the business district activities toward the half abandoned urban area. this building is the 2nd largest project which the city of dallas has completed in the history. it also won a silver plaque as a LEED certified architecture.
