Houston, TX (Chronicle News Services) -Carol Hopkins free throw with 4:17 remaining gave the host Panthers lead for good at 49-48. Prairie View scored its final 10 points at the foul line.
Tanisha Lee had 12 points and 16 rebounds for Prairie View (5-12, 3-6 SWAC), which trailed 30-28 at halftime. Casey Hart had 15 points for the Panthers.
Tammy Barber led TSU (7-11, 2-7) with 16 points.
The Lady Tigers return to action, 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, against Prairie View in the H&PE Arena on the TSU Campus.
