Documentation of the Development Process

The intent and purpose of this website are to provide the local customers with an advertisement webpage about the business and its products. This page will list the inventory of wine and spirits that are currently available at the store, customers can view what is currently on sale, also new and upcoming items that will be available soon. This is a business strategy that will help the store sell more items and generate more revenues. The intended audience is mainly customers that are local to the area. The steps to ensure that the website met its objective is to make sure that every page is organized and provide specific contents to that page. Fonts and colors should be easy on the eyes of the users, and most importantly every page should be able to send a clear message to the viewer and effectively.

Defense of the Final Product

I designed every page to carried specific contents, for example, a Wine page has all Wine items, and the whiskeys page provides all whiskey items. The reasons are so that the customers can navigate quickly and efficiently through the website, and instead of getting the runaround. The font for all the webpage is the same but just different size, I do this because I like it to be simple. I include at least one images on every page so that it catches the viewers eyes and make it more interesting. I include a business hour table on the about page because Im advertising the store, so it is wise to have a timetable posted there, address as well as a contact number. My wine page includes a video description of the wine, and also my Whiskey page includes a video about whiskeys. This is to educate new customers who do not know anything about the Wine or Whiskey products. Under every bottle of Wine and Whiskey, I included a short description of the products and contents of ACL. I messed with a lot of background design but to be more professional I finalized with solid colors before I had an actual image which was too colorful. Finally, I include the Main Menu hyperlink on every page for easy navigation.

Opportunity for Improvement and Growth

There are so many things I can do to improve the design of this website. If I have more time I would definitely try to resolve the alignment issues I have with different browsers. I would also try some better backgrounds using color properties, add more contents to each page, and use different fonts and style of design. For future updates, I would like to include an order cart so that customers can purchase items online. Other things to include are search boxes in case the contents of each page increase tremendously. Facebook and Instagram fan page would be a good idea to include, and an virtual or live customer service would absolutely be fantastic.
