Card Captor Sakura Movie

Movie One: Yeppers, the popular manga and TV show Card Captor Sakura has been made into a movie! (Yay!!! ^^) It premiered on the August of 1999 in Japan. The movie is set in Hong Kong and most if not all of our favourite characters will be there plus the pleasure of meeting more of Shaolan's family (his mom and his sisters). The movie is produced by Madhouse.

Basic plot: Sakura enters a lottery held by the Tomoeda shopping mall and she wins the grand prize, which is a trip to Hong Kong. (I wish that would happen to me. ^^;) Since her father is on a business trip, her brother, Touya agrees to be Sakura's guardian. Tomoyo and Yukito also join them on this trip. Of course, at the beginning Sakura gets a strange dream and you know what that means...something strange is going to happen during this wonderful vacation. The question is...what? In Hong Kong, Sakura bumps into Shaolan and his family including his sisters and mother. Here's a major spoiler: Sakura's new enemy...is actually a person who loved Clow Reed.

Sakura's dream: Sakura is surrounded by a void of sorts and Sakura gets caught by a long, which cloth and it is pulling her to the water. (Well, as usual, this is definately a foreshadower since all of her dreams foreshadow but what does it mean, you say? I have absolutely no idea.)

Staff: Basically the same staff who worked on the TV show. Specifically, all I can figure out is that Takahashi Kumiko will be the character designer again. This movie will be produced by Madhouse.

Bonus: In this movie, you're able to see an animation clip from Clover.

Well, if you want a full summary of the movie. Go to the link below. *laughs* I'm far too lazy to write a summary right now.

Movie Two: Yep, Sakura now can add another movie under her belt. The title of the second movie is Card Captor Sakura: The Sealed Cards This time it takes place after anime series has ended. It premiered in July 15, 2000 (while I was in Hong Kong. T_T) and ties up one loose string that the tv series probably purposely left hanging...Shaolan. In the end of the series, Shaolan does admit his feelings to Sakura but instead of the happy, tooth achy ending we enjoyed in the manga, Shaolan leaves and Sakura does not answer. I have not seen the movie yet but I can tell you a somewhat spoiler free plot to it. (egad! that'll be a first. -_-)

Basic plot: Sakura is living out a fairly normal life and everything seems to be looking up, especially since she's landed the leading role in the play at the town festival. (Apparently, she plays a princess and of course, Tomoyo is the costume designer. ^^ Also, I think the festival is a flower festival but me not sure.) Before the play begins, we also find out that Shaolan has come back to Tokyo for a visit. It seems that while Shaolan is here, Sakura must sort out her feelings and decide how she truly feels about the chinese wolf. (^^) (btw, it also seems that shaolan has landed himself the role as prince adding a little more of a romantic flare to the movie.) NEwayz, no Card Captor Sakura movie is complete w/ mysterious things and this movie is in no way immuned to them. Weird things have been happening and to make matters worse, the Sakura cards have disappeared. Now, Sakura has to find what has happened to them and resolve her feelings about Shaolan.

Staff: The Staff includes Morio Asaka as the director with CLAMP in charge of the costume designs, character designs _and_ screenplay (which is written by CLAMP's Nanase Okawa). Be prepared to have some fun w/ those costume designs as Tomoyo gets to make costumes for _both_ Sakura and Shaolan.

Bonus: The extra thing we get to see is Leave It To Kero. (sounds cute. ^^)

Pictures and Character Designs: These pictures were taken off the CLAMP site and are owned by them. The only purpose for them is for you to be able to see what the new costumes look like. (oh yeah, and don't sue me...thank you. ^^)
