Whilst on the trail of a master criminal called Harris, Nick and Sylvie are watching passengers leaving a plane from the comfort of the jeep. After Nick thinks he sees Harris, they follow the taxi that he's in, but end up confronting a defenceless nun leaving the taxi? Another great pre-title sequence that has nothing to do with the plot! A mature and debonair man is entertaining his elegant young lady friend with champagne in a posh hotel apartment. With seductive piano music tinkling in the background, he watches her safely lock away her expensive diamond necklace, then receives a phone call and excuses himself for a short while.
The following morning when Nick and Sylvie are in the office, Sylvie reads in the newspaper headlines that wealthy socialite Christine Atherton has been murdered in her hotel room. Then Nick has a phone call from the Police Department to inform him that his father has been arrested for her murder. Through Nick reminiscing about his past to Sylvie, we learn that his father, Jack Slaughter, abandoned fatherhood to become a professional con-artist who now lives off wealthy women. Nick though, does not believe that his father killed Christine for her diamond necklace. The Tropical team will have a tough time here proving Jack's innocence and clearing his... erm... good name?

As Nick feels he might be out of his depth with sensitive international issues, he and Sylvie go to see a US government expert in such delicate matters, the enigmatic, charming and suspicious Jack Laslo. Then the case and Yasmeen's life are placed in jeopardy when Sylvie uncharacteristically loses her professional focus and falls for Laslo's charms. 49 - Object of Desire
PRODUCED BY: Harel GoldsteinWRITER: Jim Henshaw
CO-PRODUCER: Bill VenterDIRECTOR: Rob Stewart
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: David Goldstein

An attractive brunette girl is flirting with Nick in a grocery store at night. Unfortunately for Nick, this pleasant diversion is rudely interrupted by a masked armed robber. The criminal is soon dispatched dead through a window by our pony-tailed hero, but the girl sees another gunman at the back of the shop, who escapes. Later at the Police Department, the grocery store clerk tells Lt Gregory that he didn't see the other gunman and neither did Nick.

After a few interesting plot developments, which include Morgan (the girl) practically stalking Nick, she claims that the second gunman is now trying to kill her, and Nick comes across more twists than a certain type of pasta. Add to this, a boat-chase with a difference, and a secondary plot involving two elderly ladies with cars and insurance fraud. Above all, it has a funny line that wouldn't look out of place in an episode of the hit comedy 'FRIENDS', which reminds me of why I watch this brilliant and underrated series in the first place, it's just sooo funny (see below).

Added to this volatile mixture is Hughes, the Duke's supercilious and overprotective butler, who's loyalty occasionally disagrees with Nick's head; and an obnoxious female reporter/photographer called Meredith McCawl who irritates everyone and knows too much by being better than Nick in stalking and 'digging for dirt' within peoples lives.

PRODUCED BY: Harel GoldsteinWRITER: Louis Moschello
CO-PRODUCER: Bill VenterDIRECTOR: Rob Stewart
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: David Goldstein
This story is told in flashback and narrated by Spider to a group of bikini-clad women at the TH Bar. He is recounting a particular case which brought Nick and Sylvie back together after they'd gone their separate ways. Sylvie has returned to the travel business, and Nick, who's "tired of battling the scum of the earth", ends up as a piano playing blues singer in a posh hotel.
Worried about the reputation of her hotel after two guests have gone missing, Roberta Danielson, the owner, turns to Nick for help, but he doesn't want to get involved. When Nick meets a trigger-happy bounty hunter called Rip Chase, who's on the trail of a hit-man and drugs ring, and he's told that the missing couple were undercover DEA agents... he DOES get involved. Thrown back into the dangerous world of crime fighting, but without the calming influence of Sylvie, Nick teams up with the risk-taking Chase... a man whose methods could easily get you killed.
