For many years Sergeant Olli Porter from Philadelphia
has hunted the killer Escobar. One day both come to Key Mariah. Sergeant
Porter asks Nick and Sylvie for their help and promises money to
the one gets who catches Escobar. Soon Nick and Olli find out where Escobar is hiding and
who his employer is. They decide to capture him but they can't because
of Lieutenant Carillo, who arrests Porter. He has investigated outside
his sphere of responsibility. |

The evening could have been so nice. An invitation from
Nick to a romantic dinner for two. But Sylvie should have known better.
At the end of the evening Nick is gone and she has to pay. Then Nick also
cheats his partner on business. Sylvie is really angry and gets revenge
on him by giving him a new client although Nick wants to relax a bit.
The starry-eyed, unrealistic animal protector Philomena
Connors traces some smugglers, that smuggle very rare parrots from South
America over Key Mariah to the USA . Nick should catch them. But the gangsters
are dangerous and don’t even shrink back from murder. |

They are partners and although they haven’t always the
same opinion, they are successful. Nick and Sylvie remember the beginning
of their partnership. At that time, Sylvie worked at a travel agency and
rented a big yacht, that wasn’t hers, to the businessman Christopher. Soon
he and the yacht were gone and Sylvie had a big problem.
She needed a private investigator, because she would
get arrested if she couldn’t get the yacht back. So she hired Nick, who
soon found out that Christopher had done more illegal things than just
steal the yacht. |

3 men want to get the license for building a casino on
Key Mariah. One of them is the Mafioso Bruno Gateaux. But also the businessman
Winston Drake who works with slush funds.
Sylvie falls in love with Drake and wants to leave Nick
in order to work for Drake in the casino. But Drake puts her in danger.
At their dinner for two, someone shoots at them and they can hardly rescue
themselves. Sylvie doesn’t realize that Drake had staged the attack and
she also doesn’t know that there is a bomb in the case with money she takes
to Nick as indemnity for losing his partner. In the last minute Nick rescues
her and they embrace.

Nicks new love Mina believes in the power of Tarot cards.
But for Nick they aren’t good. His alleged destiny is that everyone around
him is in danger. Soon the prophecy seems to come true: Nick and Sylvie
follow Alex Crane’s wife. But instead of proving that she has an affair
with an other man they see how the attractive Mrs. Crane is killed by her
“friend”. Nick and Sylvie are now going to catch the mysterious murderer.

Ian finds a young woman who had escaped from a man and
had fallen from the wharf. She hasn’t any money, no identity card and she
doesn’t know who she is. Ian asks Nick and Sylvie for help. The only leads
are a small bottle of perfume and an inscribed piece of paper.
These clues lead Nick and Sylvie to the Chancels house.
But when they want to visit him, they just find his dead body. Now they
also have to find a murderer. |

Some years ago Ian was a successful musician who had some
hits with his band and Kit, the girl he loved. Now Kit visits him and asks
him for help.
Recently she has $50,000 debt and she has to pay it back
in 24 hours. She wants Ian to sell the rights of the bands greatest hit
to Halstead, a music producer. Ian doesn’t realize that this is just a
trick to get the rights for the song from him, but Nick soon finds out.

Nevertheless Nick acts fast when Guy Hastings bring his
