This Canadian program, a humorous action-mystery tv series, aired between 1991-1993 on CBS and is known in Europe as Tropical Heat. Rob Stewart stars as Nick Slaughter, a former Miami-based DEA agent with an attitude and a ponytail who opted for what he thought would be a safer, more laidback life style: a private eye on the sunny Caribbean island of Key Mariah. Life on the beach meant sexy gals in bikinis and guys with open shirts. He spent most of his time hanging out with his friend Ian, a former Australian rock star who gave it all up to run a beachfront bar and dive shop, instead of doing his job - looking for clients. Trying to keep Nick's mind on business was Sylvie (Carolyn Dunn), his super-efficient, sexy partner, a computer whiz who had given up one career as a travel agent for another one working for Nick. When Ian went back to rock-n-roll, Nick's friend, former tennis pro Spider Garvan, took over the bar.
