As mentioned last month in the Quick News sidebar, 765 is slated to pull revenue passenger trains during the Dennison, Ohio, TrainFestival in 2004! The Dennison Railroad Museum is celebrating its 15th Anniversary with the cooperation of the Ohio Central Railroad. So make plans to be there July 30 - August 1.
Passenger trains are scheduled to be pulled by Ohio Central's 4-8-4 #6325 and 4-6-2 #1293 and their FP9 diesels will also be there. 6325 will bring passengers from Columbus on July 31 and NKP 765 will make her debut on the return trip. Then, on Sunday, August 1, 765 will return the train to Dennison.
The TrainFestival will have trains bringing passengers in from both Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There will be modern diesel power as well as old iron in both steam and diesel, rare passenger cars, and live-steam models.
But don't fret if you can't make it! The 765 is also scheduled to run many more trips in Ohio and Indiana throughout September and October. Everything seems a GO including the approval of the involved railroads!
