Year 2000 Open House: Aug. 18, 19, 20 w/Auction on 19th.
LOOK for NEW UPDATED photos right here after the 20th.

This view clearly shows the front jack pads located just under the pilot.
The pads will be required later to support the engine after the drivers have been removed.
To remove the drivers, a large gantry crane will be brought in to lift the engine.
The drivers will then be rolled out from under the engine and it will be lowered onto jack stands.

The 765 sits cozily inside the shop during the 1999 open house.
The open house is the premier event of the year
showcasing all of the societies hard work.
Always at center stage is Nickel Plate Road #765.

Visiting again this year was C&O 2716.
Actually, the 2716 has been staying at the shops for
quite some time now. She is ready to travel back to
her home at the Kentucky Railway Museum
when the time comes. For now, she makes for great eye candy.

Was it fun? Talk to these kids and you'd get a
deafening, "Yes!" This years open house had rides
in a 100 year old caboose, 1 1/2" scale live steam
provided by the Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society,
Bob Torbet's NKP motor car, many demonstrations, and much more!
Be sure to keep this one in mind in the Fall of 2000.

See you in 2000!!
