2. The principal photography was shot on-location at the "Sawyer House" in rual Muskoka, Ontario.
3. The actor or actors who portrayed the evil "Lord Holec" were left a mystery, even in the closing credits.
4. Actor, A. Joseph Baird was to have originally played the role of "Snake". He was unavailable for the first day of shooting and was replaced by producer, Darrick Sawyer. Baird was eventually given the role of "Storm" instead.
5. Actor, Shannon Sawyer was required to wear a black wig for the duration of the shoot. He hated doing so and threatened to quit several times because of this. Also, due to his soft-spoken voice, part of Shannon's dialogue was dubbed over by an off-camera actor.
6. Lord Holec's dialogue was inspired by the director's old-schooled grandmother!
7. The Trespassers was actually a sequel to a movie that never was. Part of the backstory was covered in the "flashback" sequences of the sequel, Splitting Images: Trespassers II. A prequel book, Birth of the Renegade is currently being written.
8. Most of the cast and crew were under the inflence of large amounts of beer throughout production. Apparently, this brought out the best in the actors!
9. The first film was the only chapter in the trilogy to be shot in sequence.
10. The film was actually shot twice. The first attempt (under its original title) was accidently shot without sound. This was a blessing in disguise however; the second attempt was a vast improvement.
11. Dr. Roberts name in the original script was Dr. Jackson. It is unclear why the change was made.
12. In the book version of The Trespassers, the Renegade Warriors drive around in an old, beat-up black van. To the casual viewer there appears to be no such van in the movie. More observant viewers however, will notice a black van in the background during the fight scene between the Renegades and the hired protectors. There was never a scene filmed with the Renegades actually in the van, but it was in fact supposed to be their van..
