Jesslan's Tutorial For Installing Clothes & Toyz Into Your Game

***IMPORTANT NOTE***
By following these instructions you are doing so at your own risk!!

PLEASE be careful when working with your Windows Explorer.  It's so easy to accidentally move a folder into another folder or worse.  And if you do that it's very possible it will screw up your entire computer.  This is why I have not made this tutorial earlier, it's so easy to accidentally screw something up.

First you need to open up your Windows Explorer, look to the left for the general idea of where to find it.  It's possible it will not be exactly where mine is, but search through your options of software and you'll find it.

Once your Windows Explorer is open this is what it will look like.  Where you find the folder for the 'Babyz' game will depend on where you put the game in your hard drive when you (or a parent) installed it.

I put it in a separate folder by itself on the main C Drive to help find it easier because I'm always adding new files to it or hexing with files.

The game itself suggests you put it into the folder entitled 'Programs'.  So it's possible you'll find yours there.  Simply look throughout all of the folders to find the folder entitled 'Babyz'.

Once you find your Babyz folder click on it to open it up and you'll see what I show to the left.

To install new hexed items you need to know which folder they are supposed to go in.  Generally it's a rule of thumb that hexed clothes (.clo) go in the clothes folder, hexed toys (.toy) go in the toyz folder.  And of course, midi's go into the Songz folder.  (Remember you have to unzip files before installing them into the folder they belong!)

You must pay attention to any notes the hexer has with the files.  Sometimes bmp's for toys go in the clothes folder and sometimes they go in the toyz folder.

When you're done moving all of the files into the folders they need to go in, close out the Windows Explorer and reopen your game and they'll be there.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • It's possible that through the course of hexing one hexer has used the same numbers to make an outfit/food bowl/bottle/toy that another has.  In this case, only the item of clothing/foodz/toyz that was in the folder first will show up.  The second item will not show up at all.  If you like the second item better and would rather not have the first item in your game, you'll need to search through the files to find out which one it is. lol  It'll be a pain and most likely you'll literally be removing each hexed item one by one to find it.
  • Once in a while a hexed item will not agree with your game and give you debug errors or only load a certain percentage when the game opens up.  There are a couple tricks you can try to fix it.  The first is to close out the game and press 'Ctrl' and 'Shift' on your keyboard and continue to hold them down.  While you're holding them down you then double-click on the Babyz icon to open the game.  It will ask if you want to restart your registry.  Tell it yes and it should load the game properly.
  • If that doesn't work and you're having a problem with the yellow bar seeming to freeze when you load your game, give it time to finish loading.  Everytime my game has seemed to freeze it hasn't really.  Try leaving your computer alone for five, ten or fifteen minutes and it should load the rest of the way by itself.  If it's been a full fifteen minutes and it hasn't loaded then you probably have a more serious problem and you'll need to go on to the last resort fixer upper...
  • The last resort is the only choice left... to completely un-install your Babyz game and re-install it.  BE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR BABYZ FILES AND ANY OTHER FILES YOU WANT SAVED, FIRST!!  I call this the LAST RESORT solution, because it's best you try everything else before this one because it's such a pain to do and almost always some favorite files were not saved and so now you'll be missing some favorites. :/
