Track Notes Marree to Hawker
Fuel 95.9 cents/litre
Camp site Flinders Ranges Caravan Park. We received a nice "welcome back".

84km of dirt road from Marree to Lyndhurst. Road surface was good although very dusty.

Out of bed at 7.15, had breakfast and copleted packing up. We got underway about 9.45am. We sat on 70 to 80km along the dirt and 90 to 90km on the black top. We made a couple of stops for a coffee and to take photos but did not have lunch. We called into Leigh Creek which appears to be very nicely laid out and contains lots of amenities. The caravan park did not look all that inviting.

On arrival at Flinders Ranges Caravan park, Odette set about doing the washing. We had a big job on our hands getting the bulldust off the van esecially around the windows. Although we did not seal the van for dust ingress it was not too bad inside.

The drive back from Marree was quite enjoyable. It was good to view the Flinders Ranges coming in from Lyndhust as we got a completely different view. It is nice to be on a powered site; able to charge batteries, have heating and view the video of the past week. Had good coverage on the CDMA most of the way from Lyndhurst but only 1 bar on the digital phone at Hawker.

Up at 8am today. It was really windy overnight and had to get up at 4am to roll in the awning. After breakfast Odette continued on with some cleaning in the van and doing some ironing. We spent most of the day washing the bulldust and mud off the Jeep and van (using a bucket of water).

We had a nice cooked lunch of pasta and went into Hawker to refuel the vehicle, fill up the gas bottle and do some grocery shopping. Hawker is quite a neat little town and the few shops worth a look in.
