| Baz - Can you tell us some other bands you've done cover artwork for? Steve - EP Brutal Truth, shirt Exit 13, Last Days Of Humanity [several shirts/covers], SMES, lots of gore tattoos, Krisuin tourposter and believe it or not, but I did the fuckin old skool Mayhem logo, hahaha! Really, I wrote with Euronymous back then [still got his letters to prove it] and I always drew on the envelope. That's why he asked me once to do a logo and I did that logo with a drawing underneath it, and they used the logo. Only mine was a bit more stretched, but it was exactly the same idea and now it says 'Logo by Mika' or something! Don't believe that, I did it as a fucking teenager in 1987 or something! Did tons of art for small bands and locals of course. Erwin [pigvocal of SMES and Last Days Of Humanity] and me know each other since 1975 and we often wrote Euronymous together, in fact Erwin started the correspondence as I remember well. Baz - What bands have you been listening to recently? Steve - Well, I just have to check the tapes and CDs spead around my stereo...this is the evidence. Tu Carne, LDOH, In The Sign Of The Evil album from Sodom, Gorerotted, Manowar Kings Of Metal album, Tribute To Regurgitate CD and Tribute To Impetigo, the Goreland comp CD from Black Hole label Brazil, NCC, Onslaught [power from Hell], Destruction, Prosthetic Cunt, old Mindflair demo, Hemdale, Dahmer, Zimmer's Hole, Haemorrhage, Pigsty, Game Over album from Nuclear Assault, our own upcoming CD Hellcock's Pornflakes, Nunwhore Commando 666, Crimson Glory, Exhumer Possessed By Fire album, Zeke, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition, Smegma, Gronibard, Prostitute Disfigurement, Infernal Majesty, Unseen Terror, Old Lady Drivers, Plasma - CD, Doom [Peels Sessions], Whiplash [Power and Pain album], Carnivore [first], Sore Throat, SOB, Ripcord [Defiance Of Power album], Negative Gain [Back From The Dead album], old Unholy Grave and some comp cassettes with only pitchshiftcompilations for in the car....[hm, i should clean my room sometimes...] Baz - What can we expect from Rompeprop in the future? Steve - Smashin' release on Bizarre Leprous of our second CD Hellcock's Pornflakes [hilarious cover], lots of gigs in Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Czech Republic. A split CD with Tu Carne and hopefully the bigger grindfestivals like Obscene Extreme, Fuck The Commerce etc...and new shirts. We just keep on gargling and hope you have the opportunity to gargle along! We will also release a MCD on Black Hole label Brazil, but first of all we have to write more songs. Baz - Thanks a lot for doing this here interview with us, and the best of luck with whatever you do with Romperop in future! Steve - Keep the goreporn up, you grind 'n splatter maniac! Hope to puke our lyricks in the UK sometime.... take Gore! |
