Featured are Psychosadistic Haterapist, a dark and murderous Goregrind band featuring Jay of No Life Records, who prior to this released a split with Lord Gore side project Maniac Killer on the very same label. The mysterious Erotonomicon also make an appearance, followed by a set of new tracks from the aforementioned fucks Uterus. Rounding off the mess of grinding is Septic Scum, a project of Kyle Prescott, the purulent brains behind the fuckin great Dysmennhoreic Hemorrhage.

PSYCHOSADISTIC HATERAPIST

I'd heard a bit about this before I was sent the CD-r, Demonic E mentioned them in an interview I did with him a bit ago. They have among their ranks a member of Cybergrind mentalists
Microphallus so I were looking forward to hearing em. The feast begins with I Ate Their Eyes, a track opening with an ominous film sample before exploding into distorted grinding crushfuck! Thick riffs and merciless drum machine assaults grind past, accompanied by some effects-treated, echoing vokills with a distinct haunting edge to them.
Psychosadistic Haterapist's section of 4 Way Vomitrocity continues to devastate its way through the four songs in a consistent manner, with heavy, segmented riffs played on a highly distorted and low tuned guitar, their backbones provided by pulsating basslines and well programmed drum patterns. These range from insane beating oblivion to bassy pummelling, occassionally switching to ever so slightly more restrained beats. The vokills come in two quite different forms, the main one being pitchshifted, cavernous grunting whilst the other provides back up with oozing gurgles.

Though this band has adequate originality, the sinister compositions at times reminded me a bit of other bands. Some riffs reminded me of Cyber assasins
Catasexual Urge Motivation, mental cunts Negligent Collateral Collapse and the crunchier moments of Atlantan retarded Shitgrind goofball Amoebic Dysentery in parts, recalling Finnish gore master Decay in others. Some of the vokills brought to mind Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition, though not quite as unbridled and raging as their three way oral terrorism.

The production of the tracks compliments the nature of the music excellently. It's grimy, choppy and cavernous, accentuating the dark and sinister atmospherics the songs create, further intensified by the film samples.

Overall, this short but nasty segment of 4 Way Vomitrocity is good shit, seeing the band hunt down and slaughter their favourite sounds, put them in a blood stained bledner of influences, quaff the resulting beverag then re-regurgitate it all over t'gaff in an extreme display of murderous Goregrind. Good songwriting skill is put to decent use, laying down solid grind groundwork which the band then proceed to stab holes in with sharp Deathgrind riffs and blast. The menacing nature of the music is enhanced by the all essential dark murder theme.

Unfortunately, the set of songs is not without its bad points. One of them is the shortness of the section, seeing as the four songs are over before you've had to chance to decide what you think. I s'pose this adds to the potentially addictive nature of the set, but a few more songs would've made this opening part more of a killer. Another minor point is the way in which the songs can begin to sludge into a monochromous blob if you're not paying sufficient attention after recovery from the impact of the first song. These are only small disadvantages however, and hardly make much difference to the overall rating I've given to this excellent effort from these unhinged fucks.

EROTONOMICON

This band were entirely new to me so I wasn't sure what to expect from this short yet ultimately quite satisfying three song portion of nastiness. I don't have any information about them other than the band name, the track titles and the instruments used. The being who violates them has chosen to remain anonymous. The first ascerbic mouthful he/her forcefeeds us with is Immense Pleasure Derived From Psycho-Schematic Murderous Delusions. The song alternates between bass laden, mid paced sections and relentless electronic blastfests, as pitchshifted and liquidised vokills slosh around reeling off many an indecipherable line. More foulness is to be found during the remaining two songs, as violent drum machine blasts and coarse riffs merge with rhythmic patterns and persistent buzzsawing.

Erotonomicon didn't strime me as ground-breakingly original, but did impress me with their intensity. Many characterisics of their music can be likened to Cyber terrorists
Catasexual Urge Motivation and legendary Brazilian pathologists Lymphatic Phlegm. For the most part the vokills are quite close to those of Last Days Of Humanity, perhaps pitchshifted a little lower for enhanced viscosity. For a short while on one song, the vox sound like the partched gurglings of Antimo out of monolithic Mexican crew Disgorge [mex].

The production seems to differ from song to song, switching between clear and scything, and damp and muddy. This eats away at the overall punch thrown by the set of tracks, which would have been much more rounded in its brutality with better consistency regarding production.

This section of the split is powerful and energetic, creating a forbidding atmosphere. The modest number of tracks keeps things simple, preventing them from slipping into grime coated monotony. Furious blasting and semi contagious rhythm are given in equal measures, a balance that is unfortunately tipped by the aforesaid fluctuation production. The final rating awarded is also slightly damaged by limited variety in the vokills, as well as their lack of syncrony with the instruments. That aside these are a fuckin good three tunes, certainly making Erotonomicon a name to watch.
