SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE THE TRAFFIC FLOW AT SIGS JB |
Here are a few suggestions to improve the traffic flow at SIGS JB.. |
School Administration: i) The school authorities should open both front gates at all times. The first front gate should be for teachers to enter the school premises and park their vehicles. Teachers should exit the school using the second front gate. This will encourage a one way flow of traffic in the school premises.
ii) The side gate should also be open for students to enter and exit the school. Parents and bus drivers are encouraged to use this gate to drop and fetch students. The road is wider and there is more parking space for vehicles.
iii) Another suggestion is to beautify the side gate. This is to make it have a more welcoming look for students. For example, bright beautiful plants can be planted on both sides of the gate. |

Car and Bus Drivers
i) Parents and bus drivers should send and fetch their children at the side gate. In this way, students would not crowd at the main entrance and cause a bottle neck there. It will also ease traffic significantly along Bendahara Road.
ii) The road at the side gate has more space because it is wider. There is more parking space available for them to wait for the students.
iii) They should not park their vehicles at the entrace of gates as it hinders students from moving in and out of the school. |

Students
i) Students should be prohibited from entering the school through the first main gate. This gate is for the teachers and it will be safer and easier for them to park their vehicles.
ii) Students should also not wait at the entrance for their parents or buses because they will block other students. It is better and safer for them to wait inside the school compound.
iii) Students who walk to school must not jaywalk. They must enter the school compound by using the second front gate. Moreover, there is a zebra crossing right in front of the second front gate and this is very convenient for them.
iv) Hostel students must walk in a single line. They should not talk in groups while walking. They not only endanger their lives but also other road users. |
