ENTRANCE AND EXIT GATES
There are three gates into SIGS (S). Two are located along the Bendahara Road (main gates) and the other one is on the Abdul Rahman Andak Road.(side gate)
The Main Road - Bendahara Road
The  road in front of SIGS is Bendahara Road and it is located  between  the  SIGS primary and SIGS secondary  school. It is a one way road.
The Main Entrance Gate
There are two entrance gates  along ther Bendahara Road. However, the second gate  at the Bendahara Road is always locked. Due to this, all teachers and students enter and exit the school using the first main gate. This causes a bottle neck as parents  adn school buses  drop and pick  up students  at this gate too.
The Side Gate
Students seldom use the side gate because many students  get off at  the front gate. This is because students (32.9%) say that  the main gate has a more welcoming look. 26.8% of the surveyed students prefer to use the main gate as they get off there and 23.6 % of the students feel it is inconvenient to use the side gate. 16.7% of the students say that the side gate is not opened when they reach school. The picture on the left shows that very few students, parents and bus drivers  use the side gate. Hence, traffic flow there is minimum.
Students
SIGS hostel is located about 100 metres away from the main entrance. There are about 200 students who reside there and they walk to school daily. However, many of them do not walk in a single line and  this not only put them in a dangerous situation but also endanger the lives of other road users.
As they approach the main gate, students do not use the zebra crossing but will instead jaywalk across the road.
Students enjoy waiting at the entrace for their friends. As there is only one main entrance for teachers and students this attitude should be changed as it adds on to the traffic congestion situation.
