With Civilization mixed amongst the Trade Cards are Calamity Cards. As BRW mentioned on the Forum "Bounty Cards are the Opposite of Calamity Cards"

"Why can't there be good cards?"
To ensure that people with small empires have as much chance as obtaining a Bounty Card as a large Empire, the Bounty Cards are restricted to Trade Card Piles 2 to 5.
As a further bonus, the recipient of a Bonus Cards receives a Trade Card replacement, but these are given out after all players have received there initial Trade Cards. (In a sense the Bonus Cards are similar to the Flower Tiles in Mah Jong).
Bonus Cards can be traded.
As well as the Bonus Cards there are two extra Special Cards that are not restricted to Trade Card stacks - Caravan and Sphynx.
These initial Bonus Card Rules may change, and to expedite this, the Cards have been named after the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - plus the Oracle of Delphi. This is deliberate, and means that should one desire to completely change the rules behind a Bonus Card, one does not have to reprint new cards.
I have to confess I am not 100% happy with the Bonuses they deliver, and some will be modified with time, and new ideas.
But for now they are a start, and work well in the games we have played.
Any further suggestions are welcome.
