The Winter Wonderland of Sicily

I got a call from my friend Maximo wanting me to go with him and a few buddies up to an area called Nebrody.  "It's in the mountains and this time of year there is lots of snow" he says.  I hop in the Bronco and we take off.  Here are the photos of that day.

We drove most of the day and got stuck only when Maximo would stop on an incline to see if we were all following...  He stopped a few times.  As we slid off the road into deeper snow I was able to use my winch and snatch block to do some creative winching.   Half way up the road we saw two wild boars rooting through the snow looking for lunch.  We had all stopped at a momma and poppa store earlier for some grub and we ate at the summit with a great view while Cicio tried to dry out his wet feet in the fire.

Night was on it's way so we drove down and decided to try our luck at climbing a trail near my house up on Mt. Etna.  Next stop Etna!  As we blazed up the trail it quickly became way to steep and deep for us to continue.  We took a few photos and called it a night.
