Blue Parts and an Orange Clutch

A few months ago, the mighty Bronco was held hostage by the evil parts gods.  Even one of those two cylinder Fiats could go more places than my injured Bronco.  The problem had something to do with the blue colored pieces that used to be a throwout bearing.  Notice the lack of balls in the bearing... to say the least.

On one trip off road with the Ciclopi club is when I started to hear a noise when I would press on the clutch peddle.  I decided to not finish the run since I was about 20 miles from home and at the moment still functioning.  I drove home and promptly ordered a new bearing and since the stock clutch was barely adequate with the built 302 and larger tires, I ordered an upgraded clutch as well.  While tearing apart the running gear (that had a thick protective layer of oil impregnated dirt all over it), I decided new seals and gaskets were in order.

The clutch I decided on is the dual friction Centerforce.  While this clutch has 90% more holding power than the stocker, it also has less peddle pressure.  The only bad thing about this clutch is the the ID of the stock flywheel needs to be machined to solve a clearance issue.  I had the flywheel machined and resurfaced for the cost of buying Pipo the machinist lunch...

Now I  have the Centerforce installed and it's time to do some more wheelin' Sicilian style!
